[SERIOUS] Any way to assure safe disposal of newly banned rifles

We own two "assault" style rifles, purchased before the Clinton assault rifle ban. We did submit to fingerprinting in the early 90's to own these (by whatever Connecticut law was in place at the time).

We own 2 10 round magazine clips, and 1 50 round clip, these appear to be illegal in the near future. Some rounds from the late 80's may also violate the new stat law, and I'd just as soon get rid of them.

At this point, I don't want any issue with my state. It isn't worth the hassle of owning these weapons.

Is there a safe way to legally dispose of these and assure they will be destroyed? It seems my state has decided to hate some of the rifles I own, and I no longer wish to be concerned about possibly accidentally violating any of the new laws or future laws which may be passed.

Do we have a way to bring in guns to be destroyed, and get a receipt that they were destroyed?

[House&Home] Lawn Care and Fertilizer

So what does everyone do for lawn care? The wife and I are kind of new to this whole lawn care thing since we were in a condo previously. Now we have a wonderful home with about an acre of lawn to care for.

The weather was perfect last fall and it came in awesome! I had to mow four times last year and even our builder was like, "Wow! What did you do to get it to come in like that?" Of course it was just the fact that we got the perfect amount of rain every few days.

Agway's 4 Stage program was recommended to us by the guy that hydro-seeded our lawn last fall so we are going with that for now. In mid-November last year, I put down Stage 4. Then in early April this year, I put down Stage 1. Stage 2 says April 15- June 15. It seems to be a late spring this year so I'm thinking I'll shoot for June 1st or so. We need rain!!!!

Thoughts? Am I throwing money away by fertilizing a relatively healthy and fairly weed free lawn?

Thomas and Friends @ Essex Steam Train

Family and I went to the Thomas & Friends @ Essex Steam Train yesterday, and it was really cool. The kids loved it! It was pricey, but all the children's rides are included, as is the ride with Thomas. Sir Topham Hat was there too (but he wasn't cross with the children, thankfully!) ;)

Last day is today until next year. If you have the chance to bring the little ones, they'll really enjoy it!

Looks like there is a very good chance that my dream of leaving this tax you to death state, and best of all, Winter behind will be coming true! It won't be for a few more months, but I am hoping that it will be before Winter rolls around again. I know that there are many people here who enjoy this state, and Winter. I do not enjoy either one of them. So, here we go! Wish me luck!
