[xbox] So it finally hit me. (RROD)

After two solid years of using my xbox non-stop it finally died. It has been red lighting for a few days and tonight it wouldn't start at all. When I press the sync and eject button all 4 lights blink. (Anyone know what that means?) I tho I was having cable / harddrive problems because once in a while when I took them out and put them back in the machine booted fine.

Anyone ever try to open there xbox and fix it? I heard that if you reapply the thermal paste to the CPU and GPU that the machine would start to run again.

Microsoft repair is not an option so don't post about sending it in!

[wii] Wii 86420 error code with LinkSys BEFSR41 wired router....

I constantly get this trying to play SSBB. Every thing else internet related to the Wii works fine. I have tried putting the wii in dmz, forwarding ports, port triggering, static ip, mtu changes and nothing seems to work. My pc and Xbox 360 works perfectly fine online. Once in a great while playing online with SSBB will work. It takes literally 1-30 tries for it to work. I have no friends on my list and always choose to brawl with anyone. When it does work once in a while. It plays smooth as butter. Now I know this is a router issue. Because I have hooked the Wii directly to the modem. I was able to play a match every single time on the first try. Does any one have a fix for this router?

Linksys CM100 cable modem
LinkSys BEFSR41 v4.0 with newest firmware installed
Charter cable internet

I currently have both the Wii and Xbox 360 using static ip's. I have also tried all of the suggestions on Nintendos site for the 86420 error code. Nothing works. I even went as far as disabling the firewall in my router and putting the Wii in dmz. Still no soap.

[360] My second RROD on my Elite.....

Back in April I had thhe RROD on my 4 month old Xbox 360 Elite. It took forever to get it fixed, but MS sent another.

Just turned it on, almost exactly 4 months later and what do you know, another RROD. F*cking ridiculous. I am going to try the towel trick and then call.

F*cking annoying as hell.

PS3 and XBox 360 on lan

My question, I am about to purchase a PS3. Some of my friends have an XBox 360. Since you can play some games cross platform via internet can the same also take place on a lan?

For example; Call of Duty 4.
I have PS3, my friends have XBox 360. We want to play the game between the two systems via lan. Is this possible?
