 | | BestWeb rocks my world with DSL I tried for 3 months to get DSL to my house in Katonah NY (10536, 914-232-xxxx). Bell Atlantic said it was available on their site since early 2/2000, but screwed everything up when I tried to order it, ultimately telling me it wasn't available.
I contacted BestWeb, a local ISP. They said they used Bell Atlantic for the wiring. I told them that BA already screwed things up for me. They told me that wasn't unusual. Three weeks after my first BestWeb contact, I was wired up.
These guys rule. I guess they have the right contacts with the "butt crack repairman crew" in Westchester that BA's own DSL office in Buffalo NY doesn't have. I mean, they even called me up the day it was turned on to see if stuff was working!
I was really happy with my old ISP (westnet.com), but they are offering DSL only thru Covad, which isn't going to be near my house any time soon.
$50/month for 640/90Kbps service. $99 connect fee, $99 modem fee. Self-install. Static IP. BA would have been cheaper on startup (they were waving the fees as a promotion), but since they had their head up their butts concerning my order, I said to heck with them.

We are a customer at work.. got the 1.5/1.5 SDSL package.
Pretty happy with it, had 2 downages this year, both caused by Verizon..
all in all, pretty satisfied!
Glad to know theres a forum i can check into!
