 | | LDVL/Cybertel Domain is broken I've been having problems with LDVL/Cybertel since the service was turned on. I told them of the problems right away (for three weeks now) with no resolution to the speed issue. That issue being; I am paying for 604-download and 128-upload... only receiving an average of 192-dwn and 90-up. After switching modems (for testing) then speaking with Covad's Tech-Support (which i value highly) Covad's Tech-Support agrees there is a problem and test should be run. However the Isp (LDVL) seems not to know about these test and proceed to ask *me* what tests was I or the Covad Tech speaking of. Not a good sign. I tried to stay in touch with LDVL on this via E-mail with the following results....
At first I was calling LDVL, this was getting expensive calling long-distance. I resorted to email and from those e-mails I feel they started throwing pre-text customer-service lines at me like fish bait to a fish. This by no means was/is acceptable so ... I am looking to contact someone higher up the food-chain within Cybertel/LDVL. Get this! ... At the time of this writing, none, that means not one (1) of the e-mail addresses from their website works. It goes a little bit deeper in as much as there are no MX records for the Cybertelcorp.com which is the domain attached to all the email addresses on their contact website. Searching for MX records, the results yield; nslookup Default Server: localhost Address: 127.0.0.1
> set type=mx > cybertelcorp.com Server: localhost Address: 127.0.0.1
*** localhost can't find cybertelcorp.com: Non-existent host/domain
I bring this to everyone's attention because, from this webpage; http://www.ldvl.com/ --> then click the contacts button/icon gives you a list of email addresses to user@cybertelcorp.com which above you see that domain doesn't exist.
If I continue and get inventive and check for cybertelcorp.net I get these next results;
> cybertelcorp.net Server: localhost Address: 127.0.0.1
Non-authoritative answer: cybertelcorp.net preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.cybertelcorp.net
Authoritative answers can be found from: cybertelcorp.net nameserver = NS.YOURNETHOST.net cybertelcorp.net nameserver = NS2.YOURNETHOST.net NS.YOURNETHOST.net internet address = 216.147.43.224 NS2.YOURNETHOST.net internet address = 216.147.1.158
Above (as it states) are *Non-authoritive answers* The authoritive answers were the same. If i check for LDVL; Server: NS.DIGEX.net Address: 164.109.1.3
ldvl.com canonical name = www.ldvl.net www.ldvl.net canonical name = ldvl.net ldvl.net preference = 5, mail exchanger = mail-fwd.intermediahosting.com mail-fwd.intermediahosting.com internet address = 209.238.8.57
My point is, (in my case) if nothing is apparently being done to resolve an issue, how can we get past our telephone contact to a higher authority when, no other --or-- incorrect contact information is provided? What? Do we have to spend our money and guess at a E-mail address to get action or just pay full price for partial services and say thank-you-very-much?
After three weeks (and now over the holidays) I will have to spend good money after bad buy calling long distance to get my connection issue resolved. If any one knows a sure fire contact phone number or E-mail address for Cybertel/LDVL operations -or- tech-support, please foward that information to me. I have heard good things about Covad and would like to stay with them. However not at these prices, financial or otherwise.

We are heartily sorry for the inconvenience which you have experienced with our excellent [normally] service... I have read your e-mail to us calling us everything from a Republican to a Democrat!!!! YIKES!!
We are working on a switch closer to your location that will bring you a much better speed grade of service than you currently experience. However, you do know that your circuit is ADSL and their speeds are never guaranteed. Best Efforts should be approximately 203K to 230K. We probably explained the nature of ADSL as opposed to SDSL services.
So what happens? On top of your problem with us, our WEB site was moved and some difficulty arises. This is to be corrected within a matter of hours now. You may of course get us at CYBERTELCORP.WEB any time you want. Our cybertelcorp.com is the one moved.
Because of your difficulty we are going to lower your monthly circuit costs by 10% until such time as you become a HAPPY CUSTOMER :0)
Thanks for your input I needed that!
