I get only 60kb/sec on this warpdrive but was getting 250 on Road Runner.
No one seems to have the answer to any questions.
They never can fix the problem.
The tech guys are nice, but cannot solve any problems I call them with. It took 5 phone calls for my e-mail to get set up. I had to switch all of my address book to hotmail, it took so long.
I have to go to a web page to use e-mail, I cannot just go to my browser and use that e-mail. No I have to log on to a web page. This company sucks and I am going to change to another cable company as soon as I can | |

Bandwidth also seems to be decreasing or throttled. | |

Cary, NC | Speeds Drop Near Dialup I'm in a hotel in Hobbs, NM that uses US Cable. A few days ago, speeds dropped from 4-10 Mbps/800-1.5 Mbps to a few hundred kbps up/down. The hotel is aware of the situation and has rebooted their modem but speeds still suck.
I was out here before and had Windstream DSL - that sucked, too. | |

This is three days of this crap. The hotel manager can't get tech support to do anything after hours on the phone. Many guests and the hotel staff are encountering the same problem. | |

Cary, NC | Apparently, these assholes are throttling speeds or allowing some major bandwidth hog on in the evening. Haven't figured out exactly when it starts each day but this morning I was getting 8+/0.8 Mbps and now it's back down to a few hundred kbps each way with up faster than down. The hotel manager saids the daytime/nighttime thing has been going on off and on since December. | |

| | New tier available. US Cable is now offering a "Hypersonic" package that includes 10 mb down and 1 mb up for $55/month. It's a shame you can't bundle this or get a discount for it.
The speed is great but the ping times are horrible--they average 120 ms on my end (double what I had on the "Sonic" tier).
I wish they offered a 2 mb upload speed for this price. | |

1 edit | Re: New tier available. Just an addendum: but they surreptitiously doubled the upload speed w/o increasing the price of the Hypersonic package this past week. It is now 10 down and 2 up! Still the monthly fee is pretty steep compared to other providers for similar tiers. | |
