Kind of empty in here. I stopped by to read some post now that I see hiwaay is available here. I wanted to see what others are saying about it.

Re: ???

I used HiWAAY for about 6 years. I had ISDN (128k) for 3 years while I was with them. I had great latency. They're based out of Atlanta, so we don't have to worry about being routed to NOL...sorry, I couldn't help myself

Maybe I was wrong about thinking someone had posted something in here previous...kinda obvious huh...

Re: ???

I have confirmation from them that they will sign me up on my line. They have a couple of local dial-up numbers for my area.

That trace posted in the BS Bama thread from Hiwaay looked pretty good. Maybe I'll call them and ask about Port 25 filtering and such.

Re: ???

I can answer that. They filter no ports and you can run all the servers you would like to. As long as you aren't hosting a business, they do not care.

Above & Beyond

Back with Hiwaay after two years. This time on dsl.

I'm at the edge of the envelope for distance from the CO. They are doing everything they can to keep it running smooth.

Local customer support 'til 9PM, they get Bellsouth on line issues immediately, truthful about equipment failures, and they do not consider everything the customer's fault.

Having a bit of a problem with my Broadmax modem as of late for two reasons. #1, the distance and #2 they discovered faulty AC adapters in a good many of these modems. They are giving me a Zoom modem on a one to one swap. No charge.

If you want broadband, are within the distance for DSL, go with Hiwaay. You won't be disappointed!

Just be sure to filter your 900MHz phones (or geta 2.4GHz and eliminate the 900 all together like I did).
