The $19.95/29.95 offer from AT&T sounds good, until you have to call them about a problem. First of all, support is only available bankers hours, Monday to Friday. Then, you can't get past any of the voice prompts until you enter the phone number on the account, but, of course, there is NO PHONE NUMBER on a naked DSL account! This sucks! Not worth the savings to get teh aggravation!

Re: AT&T Doesn't Know How To Deal WIth Naked DSL

All naked DSL lines have an associated number and dialtone for billing purposes, I also find if you do not make a selection in the menu, it will often send you to a real person.

If there was an associated number, they kept it a secret. And if there was a way to get to a human, it was positively buried.

Hey All,

Wondering if anyone has an idea what might be happening to my service. I have AT&T's DSL HSI PRO and every night between 12:00am and 1:00am we get dropped. The time is never the same, not 12:05 every night, it could be 12:08, 12:23, 12:28, etc. etc. It's only for a minute or maybe a few minutes but we are both online gamers and when you get dropped for a few minutes, well we are talking life and death for a whole group of people playing, not just us. This is serious stuff, well you know what I mean, .

I'm running from the modem (sorry I'm at work and don't have the model) to a D-Link EBR-2310 non-wireless router for both my pc and my wife's pc. Both the modem and router have what I believe to be the most current drivers/updates.

A friend in the phone business (not with AT&T) said it sounds like they are running a nightly line test that spikes my system and disconnects me momentarily.

Before I try contacting INDIA for some support, being told to reboot my pc, blah blah, etc. does anyone have any thoughts? The pc's are both shut off nightly and no programs, ie anti-virus, etc. are set to run or update themselves during that timeframe, if they were it would happen at the same time every night.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
