| | Connection Problems I have been a subscriber for over three years. Always have connections issues. The last round of problems was the Speedtouch 546 loosing sync everynight for eight to ten hours. My subscribed speeds are 5Mb / 512Kb. The lastest attempt to resolve this is to reduce my 5Mb to 4Mb. I have had the same types of problems even at the 1.5Mb .. I have had a new NI box installed outside my house, a CAT 5 direct to the modem installed, new modems every three months or so. Cable Service has verified every junction from the CO to my house (inside demark) more then ten times and they say all is well, and still connection issues. | |

| | DE Jazzd I have been with this company for DSL for about 4 years now and I have had nothing but EXCELLENT SERVICE. I have never had an outage at all. There speeds are very well price for me working for another DSL Company. There is a topic in here in here with Connection Problems. Have you made sure that the connections for the Jack for a direct line for your DSL wiring is very good? Wires to seem to go out alot | |

| | Setting Up a Wireless Router Hi,
I am going to set up a wireless router for my wife's parents over the holidays and was wondering if anyone could tell me the type of DSL modem DE Jazzd uses. Also if you can provide any tips on setting up the router it would be appreciated as well.
I just want to be prepared when I get up there since it is a surprise for them.
Thanks! | |

| | New and so far - happy
I just dropped local cable service which has served me well for 4 or 5 years. I had a 5mbps connection for $36 (and that was discounted because I'm a cable tv subscriber) Dejazzd gave me a 10mbps connection for $29 (locked in for life), a free modem and a $50 gift certificate to Amazon.
I gave the cable company a chance to save a customer but they let me walk. My cable was testing at about 4,400kbps and the new DSL is about 8,400kbps on this site.
I know, I know, I'm not likely to keep this service for life so the "locked in for life" price is a small selling point. I mean sheesh - could you imagine if you locked in for life with AOL on 1200 baud???!!
So far - I like 'em!! | |

| | | Re: New and so far - happy I have been a DEJAZZD DSL user since 2000. I also just accepted their offer of 10mbps for $29.99 and a 2 year commitment. I have had no issues with DEJAZZD! | |

| Stahr join:2008-05-08 Akron, PA | I dropped Blue Ridge due to their bandwidth limits. I have had D&E for 2 months now. I am not happy. Every week, for a few days, the connection is too slow to use. I rather it totally drop out so maybe I could get some credit ! Is it just that the whole damn internet is slow? because My connection at work seems to do the same thing (though not as bad).
"D&E cannot guarantee speed and uninterrupted use of the service" but we do guarantee taking your money on time !!!

| | | | Re: New and so far - happy Funny you should mention that...
It hasn't happened to me yet but my wife has documented a couple of times where our throughput went down to ridiculously low levels for hour or so during the day. I never experienced anything like that on Cable (where bandwidth is supposedly shared). Now I have DSL which is supposed to be non-shared and it sometimes acts as if it is. Hope this problem goes away.

| | | I had dsl installed the minute they announced it in 2000 (before DE bought out Connestoga). The total down time over the 8 years has been about 3-4 days.
You guys need to figure out if it is a DE issue or an upstream issue. If you state it happens at work and at home, there is a bigger issue someplace.
DSL isn't shared in the same way that cable is, but it is still shared bandwith. Your delusional if you think you have dedicated bandwith on your dsl line.
My biggest annoyance with DE is when the DNS isn't working right. But that is easily fixed too.
