 | | Configuring a wrt54g for pppoe Hey all, I had verizon previously and my router was set up to use pppoe to authenticate and the modem was in bridge mode. Now I'm in a new place and have Verizon Avenue. There is no modem in the room, just a lan plug. I'm trying to reconfigure the router and it doesn't want to hook on to things. I type my user id and password and cloned my mac address. Any ideas for what to try? | |
| | | Verizon repair service in central Florida stinks I gotta vent so here goes. I was (still am) having trouble getting incoming calls. It would ring once and then end. I set the appointment up for last Friday. The tech came out on Friday morning and after checking at the interface he said the trouble was down the road. Being a retired phone man I assumed he meant it was in a slc or some kind of carrier and he would refer it to that group. It was suppose to be fixed by 5:30 that evening. Here comes around 6:00 pm on Saturday and still not working and by this time there is no dial tone. I called verizon repair and they said ,yes, it was in the carrier but that group doesn't work on weekends. I asked what about when they had the ticket on Friday afternoon and his reply was there must have been trouble tickets ahead of you. It was rescheduled to be working by Monday at around 4:30. Come to find out they have referred it to the C.O. Could it have been in the C.O. all along? Maybe. This is extremely lousy service.

West New York, NJ | Verizon Avenue - Substandard service VZ Avenue is a sister company of Verizon and usually found in Condo complexes around the country.
In our community, we have three T1's coming into the complex according to the more friendly techs I have spoken to.
Unfortunately, QOS is not consistent and speed tests run here and other sites verifies downstream and upstream rates below what some techs have indicated is their "unofficial standards"
In addition, I have had techs try to gas light me that my speed is hampered because I have a 4-port hub coming off the Demark.
Overall the quality of service, quality of technical sophistication and overall customer service is 3 on a scale from 1-10
If you can avoid using this service, you will be better off. If you community has VZ Avenue you should complain that they are fostering anti-competitive practices | |
