 | | Colbanet ADSL2+ I'm wondering what kind of speed I can expect from Colba ADSL2+?
I live in downtown Montreal at 1055 Saint-Mathieu on the corner of Rene-Levesque. I currently have Sympatico 7meg download and 800k upload. I realistically get 6meg download and 650k upload. A Bell technician came today to upgrade my wiring (because I was getting a 2meg dl on a 5 meg connection) and told me that my line could now handle a 16meg Optimax connection because there was very little interference on my line.
Does that mean that I will now get fantastic speeds with Colba since they both use telephone wiring?
I've seen that Colba has been getting fantastically bad reviews on its ADSL2+ service but I'm curious enough to ask anyone out there what they think my chances are of getting a good speed. I tried calling Colba and was told that someone in my building was getting a 5meg/1meg speed with ADSL2+. Does that mean that I'm not going to get faster than that? I asked for a callback but haven't heard back from anyone since Monday morning.
Thanks in advance for your comments and feedback!
p.s. Can I flash a Sympatico 2Wire wireless modem to use with Colba? | |
