| | Terrible connection speed on Ft. Carson
For the last 2 years i have been using the service provided by this company and the one before it (name was changed).
and i must say that at odd hours of the night and while everyone on post is at work the connection is fine around 4,000kbps and upload at 450kbps, however during the hours of 5:00 PM and 3:00 AM the service is absolutely terrible.
nothing can be done except to get this company to possibly add some new hardware, install more switches or just upgrade the overall operation, being on post means we have to use the on post services, so i can't go to comcast i'm stuck with slow speeds, no way out.
I think the armed forces should have options on internet just like everyone else, or at the very least have access to decent service
| | | Baja Broadband I never posted a message on a board like this before. I never thought I would have to resort to this. The service tech just left after he connected my new TV to HD service. The service tech acted if he had never connected up a TV before. He didn't know what to do. He just fumbled through the buttons until he got it to connect. The tech didn't have any instruction manuals on the required HDVR that was required to rent with HD service. His call to his supervisor was useless...he was told to press the "help" key on the controller. There is not a "help" key on the controller. The tech went to the local office in Alamogordo to see if they had an instruction booklet or information on the recorder. At the local office and the warehouse they didn't have any. I called the local office and asked to speak with the supervisor and she wasn't available. Someone else who answered the phone said the only printed material available was on the internet. What happens if I don't have the internet? I had to ask the tech in my apartment 4 times for a channel lineup sheet so I could see what channels were available. I finally got a very bad copy where I could barely read the channels (extremely small print, copy of a copy of a copy and the channel numbers were in a shaded area). I thought Comcast was bad! Gimmy Comcast back, please.
Shaking my head in Alamogordo.
| | | Baja Broadband internet Ok...I should have learned my lesson before. Baja Broadband advertises 10MB up and 1 MB down. Is this for real??? NO. I tested the speeds from my connection site to various servers and the average I get is about 7.0 MB up and .95 MB down. It never got above 8.3 MB. Wait doesn't Baja offer another package with 7 MB speed. yes they do. I decided to pay for what i was really getting. Well that didn't work out either. Today Nov 14, 2009, I tested the connection speeds to various servers again on speedtest.net The highest I get is 5.7 MB.
BTW...When the installer came I asked about the speeds again. He said it's 10 MB but you'll never see that. The best you'll get is about 8.5 MB....
Did some research in how Baja advertises it's internet speeds. Well, If it doesn't say up to I should get what i pay for, right. I did not find up to anywhere in their advertisements.
Class Action lawsuit anyone????
