So far, contact with them has been great. Although GTE has some problems. Transfer rates have been slow at best lately, and GTE (Verizon) is slow to get help.
Alpha1 has always been there to help and volunteered to even contact Verizon on my behalf.
I have had Alpha-1 DSL service for nearly 2 years now and have had only great service when dealing with them directly.
Their upstream, Savvis, on the other hand, had repeated times of packet-loss, but Alpha-1 is purportedly correcting this with multi-homing with better providers.
Alpha1 is always good
