| Anon | Hit by Double Billing!
Okey boys and girls, experts on DSL wannabees. Since most of you boneheads got hit by Infospeed/Acedsl double billing fiasco, well been with Ace for 6 months - never talk to Info for DSL ever yet I too got hit by this unprecidented foul up. Question is should I not pay Info (never order the service, why pay), or just pay them for months so they can accumulate all the interest (just imagine how much money they will make in interest if they get us all to pay and refunded later). How about this, send a note on my payment to bill acedsl for the dsl. They surely tell me to talk to ACE if I call to complain about the dsl service. BTW I already filed a complaint to NYPUS for what it worth. Any info is acceptable.....

| Cant download... anywhere
I'm using AceDSL in Brooklyn, NY (11209). I'm about 6200 ft away from my CO. I dont usually lose the connection but I have been experiencing problems downloading. Sites like download.com, napster.com, even microsoft.com. I have a wide variation in ping also. Something like 35-190 sometimes more. My pings in gamespy are worse than what I had when I was using my 56k modem (start from 200+)
The tech support doesnt seem to be very helpful so I'm asking you guys for help. Every site is "internet traffic", even MICROSOFT.COM and DOWNLOAD.COM. OK. They dont seem to have much patience in dealing with customers with problems. Thats ok cause I'm about out of patience myself. I call them and they tell me to cancel from them or they tell me that maybe I dont know how to use Internet Explorer. Oh yeah, I'm sending them too many emails as well.
I'm pretty POed but since cable isnt here yet I'll have no choice but try to figure this out.
Can anybody help me? Thanks. willchuck@hotmail.com

| Acedsl is a great ISP. I don't work for them. I have used their service for three years. All I've seen along the way have been service upgrades on top of an already rock solid service.
For example, Ace increased line speeds at the same time Verizon did (which they didn't have to). Also, they've regularly improved services that already were extremely functional and easy to use like the webmail they support.
Uptime has been great, and a loong time ago they had a few reps with great technical but poor "people" skills, and even that has improved. Customer service is great.
I've had DSL from various companies, and still do (redundancy), but Acedsl is one of the best I use. I've even recommended them to my clients.
If you need static IP's, no rediculous restrictions on your line, reverse DNS, and rock solid service.. well.. I use them for all of the above with no headaches. And, if I sound like a commercial.. well.. they're worth my giving them a plug here and there.

Does anyone use their VOIP PBX service? I am interested in it, but have been so busy that I haven't been able to make the call to get more info. Anyone know prices? etc?

I was interested in switching to them from Cloud9 but if they are going to be forced to either raise their prices or stop using Verizon's DSL network, I am not going to make the switch.

| Turn off service takes a month.....is this normal?
I requested turn-off my service, and they said it takes a month to turn-off. They said it's all in the contract.
Hey....I joined their service since dayone....,and they are gonna charge me for an extra month to turn off that I don't use.
I am moving out a location and will not use the ACE.. It's gonna be totally waste of my money.
Any other utility costs me a moth fee to cut the services out!!!! unbelievable.

| ACE disappointment ACE disappointment OKAY, my account got disconnected about a month ago. I called Ace to figure out whats going on. I immediately got blasted by their tech support staff that my account has been disable due to DoS attacks to my ip address. I asked for any logs or anything they can give me to figure out whats going on as I have a basic setup (netgear wireless router, and laptop)... They cannot provide me any information .. no reasons given.. only that I and I quote "You pissed someone off and they did this to you" "these attacks are impacting other users" ..
Next I suggest why not switching my ip address and lets see what happened.... after an hour and a half of pleading they switched the ip address. One month later, my account is disconnected again.. spoke with Ace support... nothing they can do.. the account has been terminated due to DoS attacks...
Ace, I've been a loyal PAYING (high price for 3mb/768) customer for years. Something is going on with my network or yours, that need to be address and you choose not to even take a second look.. I'm disappointed in your support team handling of this situation... If my ip address is being targeted for whatever reason (virus on my machine, spyware, malware, etc. ) and your support staff, or network cannot support or handle or address the situation.. I think im better off switching to a company that can. Cable Vision 5mb/2mb for $29...
Whoever known of a network that cannot support or respond to DoS attacks which is very common on todays internet.
