[cayman] Cayman 3220 H After Upgrade to Bellsouth Extreme

My trusty old 3220 H is giving my a good upstream speed but less than 1 Mbps downstream since I upgrading by DSL service. It and a Roadrunner cable modem have happily sat behind a ZyWall 35 for several years. The Cayman is runing COS 6.3 Build R2

Once I got all of this working, the only way I can get into the Cayman is via the serial port, even if I manually set a NIC to the same subnet and connect directly to a Cayman LAN port.

Two questions:

How can I access the web interface on the Cayman?

Perhaps OT, why am I getting such low downstream speeds?

The only thing that has changed in three years (and that was today) was to change the Cayman from 192.168.100.254/255 (which conflicts with the cable modem) to 192.168.200.254/255.
============================= Edit =====================
Please disregard this post.

Apparently it took the LAN a while to settle down after I changed the address of the Cayman to eliminate any potential conflict with the Motorola cable modem.

As far speed, once I got in to the web interface is was very easy to see that Bellsouth/ATT sold me something they can't deliver - the Cayman is sync'd at a maxmim of about 1600 down and 609 down. They are trying to get a tech out.

Can I tell if somebody remotely accessed my network

Hey Guys and Girls,
Over the weekend a huge ammount of data was destroyed from my computer. This could not have been a freak accident as the data that was destroyed was very specific. I am wondering of somebody accessed my network wirelessly (from their car outside my house) via my netopia router (standard wep encryption) and destroyed the files. Is their any way for me to see a list of all inbound connections to my router or any other advice you can give me would be great. thanks a million.

I've done a little research on the site and came to the conclusion it may be just showing the highest speed I can get on my DSL line.... I dunno.. but if so I'll go to my ISP tomorrow and upgrade to 3.0meg if that's the case... its only $4 extra.

[netopia] New DHCP Wan IP address with changing MAC?

Netopia 3386-ENT router hooked to Cable Modem via
ethernet. Previous router, an SMC, would get a new WAN IP
address from the Cable Modem each time I released and renewed
the connection. 3386-ENT router seems to get the same WAN IP
every time, no matter how many times I release and renew
the WAN IP.

Only way to change it is to change the MAC
and reboot the router, but then I also have to reboot the
cable modem or it won't recognize the router. Cable modem
doesn't have any software reboot or power switch so that's
annoying.

Even after changing the MAC, if I change it back to the old
one, 3386-ENT will get the old WAN IP when rebooted
(like Freddy Krueger rising from the dead.)

Needless to say, the DHCP messages from the 3386-ENT must
be different than those from the SMC but I don't know
how I can modify them. I tried IP passthrough and DHCP
passthrough and even DHCP relay mode, and nothing works.

I got the netopia because I thought it was more secure
than the SMC but it lacks this crucial feature of easy
WAN IP changing.

Why? Try downloading multiple parts
of a file from a site that blocks your IP for an hour
after each piece. I couldn't even download the new
firmware twice from Netopia (for their hardware!) without
resetting my WAN IP. (I thought the first time it was corrupted.)

Right now I have both routers in series and have no problems
other than wasting electricity!
