m0n0wall/pfSense/ipcop low power firewall IBM Netvista 2800

Hi everyone -

I've found a local source for a few old IBM Netvista 2800 thin clients which work exceptionally well for a m0n0wall or pfSense or ipCop.

Using a regular headless PC draws about 75 watts of power or more, these draw about 26 watts!

These little boxes will absolutely blow your regular Linksys routers away. You can enable full traffic shaping and have tens of thousands of active connections (most home routers support around 500-1000, and some up to 4000 but bog/crash at that). I use pfSense at home to prioritize my game/voip traffic, and let me tell you I can download on BT, run a speed test, and upload a file all at the same time - and my ping hardly fluctuates in game! (it's funny when the ping command returns 500ms ICMP latency but the in-game ping shows 50ms - you KNOW the traffic shaping is doing it's job!)

Netvista 2800 Specs:
266mhz CPU (plenty fast, 10mbps takes about 10-15% CPU load)
128mb RAM
Intel PRO/100 Ethernet
2x PCI slots
CF Header
IDE Header

I can get a few of these, but would like to know within the next day if I have anyone who would be interested.

I'm offering to include the Netvista with a CF loaded with pfSense and extra 'net card. $50 for the pre-configured unit plus actual shipping. If you are interested in just a raw box let me know that also.

Thanks for looking!

P.S. Here's a pic to show what size these are:

[FS] FS: Unused Speedtouch 516 $25

I have an unused Speedtouch 516 and I would like to get rid of it because I cancelled my TSI services before they activated. I have never turned on this modem, so it's unused.

I took the power cord out of the box and took the zip-tie off, though.

I am asking $25 + shipping costs, or you can come pick it up yourself.

I live in BARRIE, Ontario.

[FS] 72 Inch Server Rack - (local PU only)

I have a 72 inch high server rack for sale. Comes fully enclosed with vented rear door, two removable side panels, and front door with Plexiglas insert. Unit also has four heavy duty casters for moving the rack around and four screw down feet for stability. Rack also has AC exhaust fan on the top for moving out all that unwanted hot air.

Unit has the usual scuffs and marks from being moved between locations many times, but is overall in great shape.

Given the size and weight of this rack it will be available for local pickup only in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. We can work out the logistics of the transportation later.

Asking price is $200 and I will post some pics later.

You can see some pics here from a few years ago. None of the servers will be included in the sale.

[FS] WRT54Gv5 and V6, WAP54Gv2 (with extras), UPS, Cantenna

WRT54G v5 and v6:
Both with copper heatsinks with Arctic Silver heatsink compound and joining compound. I've added a small fan underneath the case to pull cool air in and push hot air out.
Noise is noticeable but minimal. No grinding or really loud humming or buzzing. The v6 has a hole in the top of the case where I was going to mount the fan but decided to mount from the bottom.
Both routers work great. They are loaded with DD-WRT v23sp2 but I can put the factory firmware on them if you wish.
$35.00 shipped

WAP54Gv2
Has aluminum heatsinks on a copper base. Also has a case fan. Was my first fan mod (hence the cut in the top of the case). I've added blue LEDs in place of the original red and orange LEDs.
Come loaded with DD-WRT v23sp2 but I can put the factory firmware on it if you wish.
$35.00 shipped

Extra antennas:
Free, just pay shipping or I can toss some in with a router or access point.

Cantenna:
Used with the WAP54Gv2 for extending my network a few city blocks. The antenna was outside therefor the pigtail was sealed with a pliable waterproof compound. The cable was ran in through a window and the window pushed down on the cable. I reinforced the cable with electrical tape. No, there aren't any cuts underneath the electrical tape, it is just there so the window wouldn't cut the cable (or crush it).
The lid has a little wear on it but still kept the moisture out when I pulled it out of production (today actually).
$20.00 shipped

Uninteruptable Power Supply:
TrippLite 550U battery backup. I purchased this used but it has worked great since. It powered the WAP54Gv2 if/when the power went out so remote workstations could connect to the network.
*I removed the speaker so when it switched to battery power it wouldn't chirp or beep. This UPS was in an area that needed to be as quiet as possible so a beeping UPS was a no/no. I also removed the ground pin on the connector because of the electrical plugs in this old, old house did not have a ground on the faceplate.
The battery works great as I tested it today. I charged and turned the UPS off after 20 minutes of battery run time on the WAP54Gv2.
$25.00 shipping might be included depending on the cost to ship this slightly heavy item. We'll work something out.

Motherboard
-ABIT IS7, the Northbridge chip got damaged when the heatsink was knocked off accidentally, so I replaced it with a new one. The heatsink gets really hot but still works. The only problem I had with the board was the on-board audio, probably a result of the Northbridge incident. - $30

-3 SATA-II cables with double right-angle connectors (brand-new) - $3/each

External HDD enclosure
-Bytecc 3.5", IDE only, up to 500GB. Comes with power adapter and USB cable. - $20

Buyer is responsible for shipping costs. I accept payment though PayPal. IM me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
