New Gaming Laptop - Thoughts?

So I was thinking of getting a new laptop, my sager of almost 8 years died about 2 years ago in a slow process.

I never picked up a replacement, but thinking I want to get a new one, but I would definately want to keep it under a 1000. I found a discount site through NYC's Department of Education where I can get a decent amount of a Lenovo

http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/nycdoe/StdAffinityPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087&current-category-id=5B0116E237099FA0FCA012D9B20ED2FB&action=init

I7 3630QM
GT750M
8G DDR 1600
1920x1080
1 TB 5400rpm+16gb SSD

for 849 (which is 500 off of 1349)

Any thoughts? better deals, or deals maybe under 600?

*EDIT just saw the other laptop thread, my bad.
I needed, as a requirement it would be nice to run new games at mid-quality(I typically shut off shadows for performance) for awhile. Maybe 2-3 years?

Reports say: Nvidia 700 Series Coming In May

Surprised this hasn't been posted here yet! This particular "news" or "rumor", whichever category you want to put this in, first sprouted up about a week or so ago. About a week ago is around the time I first read anything new on the 700 series. So by this point, this is relatively old news... but I'll post it anyways.

"Nvidia Geforce GTX 700 Series Coming This May" has been the headlines around the internet. According to a few different reports, GeForce GTX 700 series will be heavily based on existing GeForce Kepler silicon, with a handful feature-set updates, and some clever product stack adjustments.

quote:"The part that succeeds today's GeForce GTX 680, the GeForce GTX 780, could be based on the 28 nm GK110 silicon, and could very well be the fabled "GTX TITAN LE" part that's been in the news for some time now, as being a scaled down GeForce GTX TITAN, with 2496 CUDA cores, 208 TMUs, 40 ROPs, and a 320-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 5 GB of memory."

"The GeForce GTX 770 could be similar to today's GeForce GTX 680, in featuring 1536 CUDA cores, 128 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide memory interface, probably holding 4 GB of memory; and the GeForce GTX 760 Ti being similar to today's GeForce GTX 670, featuring 1344 CUDA cores, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and 256-bit wide memory interface, holding 2 GB of memory; so you see where NVIDIA is going with its product stack." -http://www.techpowerup.com/183096/nvidia-geforce-gtx-700-series-coming-this-may.html

This is extremely exciting news to me as I was basically winding down all my expectations & preparing myself for a seemingly "endless-feeling" long, hard wait until the end of the year or, worse, next year! I hadn't heard nearly a peep about anything 700 series and most of the dialog(has to be taken with a grain of salt!) I've read around the internet were full of people doubting 700 series would even be mentioned this year at all.

I've been waiting for what seems like ages to drop more than a few large bills that have been burning a hole in my pocket on a 700 series GPU. The thought of waiting until the end of the year or 2014 was making me sick! So, I really hope this turns out to be true because a brand new 780(or 2) has my name all over it!

For alittle less than 2 years, I've been on 2x560Ti's running in SLI and they've been rock solid & awesome for both 1080p and 1200p gaming! But I've really really really wanted to add a 3rd 24" 1080p monitor and scratch my Nvidia surround itch. A 700 series GPU is basically a necessity for running anything like that decently. Even a 680 struggles with resolutions that high. 680 SLI scaling isn't particularly worth the money in my opinion. Those are the facts I've had to keep telling myself and deal with to keep me from buying 680's. It's been so hard to just say screw it and jump the gun! But I know I wouldn't be 100% happy. And lets face it, that's alot of money to throw down on something... for that, you better be extra sure you're going to be 100% happy. There just isn't a 75% happy in my book for that kind of money.

Nvidia 700 series coming in 2014

Nothing new coming to shake up the GTX 600 vs. Radeon 7000 game.

said by Tom's Hardware :Report: Nvidia GeForce 700 Series Will Launch in 2014

Sadly, it appears that the next generation of Nvidia's GPUs will only be released in 2014.

The guys over at WCCF Tech have gotten their hands on Nvidia's GPU roadmap, and it appears that the 700 series of discrete graphics cards might not appear until 2014. While there were already rumors that Nvidia and AMD would be waiting until next year for the next generation of graphics cards, it appears a bit more certain for Nvidia now.

Nvidia might have just launched its 700M mobile graphics parts, but beyond the release of the GTX Titan LE, which appears to be scheduled for a release in Q3 2013, we won't be seeing any other new GPU's from Nvidia until at least 2014.

Haswell iGPU

It'd be good if the release product backed it up, but after so many years of basically suffering through their "offerings" and market-speak (second-hand), all this just personally comes off as (IMO)...
intel: "We're a GPU company now!"
nvidia & AMD: "that's cute."Intel has long built a very well deserved reputation of contempt for gamers on their graphics, and until it's actually in people's hands and reviewed properly, I see no reason to think any differently of Haswell's iGPU(s). I get that they probably couldn't fit much more than 128MB of eDRAM for the GPU in a standard CPU package, but that number just feels so... 1996. Then again, this is also the same company that took more than 15 years to finally have hardware support for a GPU feature that had been standard since the original geForce 256 and Radeon products. :p
