[CATV] Olympics in HD....Sorta on Insight....

The Cincinnati Enquirer television writer has a little info on his blog about Insight. He speaks about the upcoming Olympics on NBC in HD. He points out the fact that both Time Warner and Insight will not be picking up the other Universal family of networks that will have HD programming on them. Of course you will get the stuff in HD that is on NBC. But suddenly I am envious of my DirecTV neighbor. They will get those channels.

Not looking to beat up Insight about their lack of HD (other posts this week have done that). Just wanted to make this point about what we are missing.

If it weren't for the good people at Insight, I would have jumped ship a long time ago.

[Need Info] Insight's DNS Servers are open to attack in NKY?

Anyone who is using the insight DNS servers are vulnerable to malicious people to impersonate almost any website on the Internet. I've switched to opendns since they are safe from this kind of attack. I don't know if this vulnerability is system wide or not. http://www.doxpara.com/ is the place to check to see if they are open to attack. After checking the DNS Servers in my area they showed they were not patched.

[Connectivity] IP Address changed to 96.xxxx Kentucky

My Internet went down for about 3 hours this morning around 6AM. When it came back up, my IP address switched from 74.xxx to 96.xxxx. Is this a real IP address now used by insight or am I having problems? I noticed that my speeds are inconsistent using the 20meg service.

[Speed] Inconsistent speeds

I have the 20mg service and my speeds are very inconsistent on a day-to-day basis. My signal and power numbers are rock solid and good, tested by me and an Insight tech.I only have the line split once as it comes into the home, and use RG6 throughout. My speeds vary from 20-30mg down to 2500-3000 mb,and can fluctuate on an hourly basis. These times don't necessarily correspond with peak hour usage.
I have been told speaking with a "Tier 3 " rep is what I need, but that seems to be hard to make happen.
Can anyone further illuminate me on this situation, especially and Insight tech/rep?
