iPod Touch

I'm thinking of getting my eleven year old an iPod Touch. He's a little too young for a cell phone, but he really digs my iPhone.
I know there are parental controls, but I do not want to just "blanket" turn off Safari and other applications. At the same time, I do not want unfettered access to the internet. He can look at all the good stuff in few years when he's smarter than me.

Are there any good content filter apps that you guys have used? I'm perfectly willing to jailbreak too, if needed.

How do I surpress keyword advertising?

Not sure what it's called, but some websites will have ads and/or search results built into certain words and when you hover the ad pops up.
I used to use Firefox nearly all the time, but have been using Safari more often. I don't see these in Firefox (not sure if that's due to some Add-On I have or the way the browser is built).
In any event, is there any way to suppress these ads in Safari?
Thanks!

[Beginner] First impressions going from PC to Mac

I first came into contact with mac osx jaguar and tiger from my former employer. They had the "color" imac, the "goose-neck" imac and all later mac models.

These macs were abused. They never shut them down, they were connected to the light switch, so when you turn off the lights it cut the power to the macs. :o

They NEVER had a problem with the macs. It was amazing.

But like I said in an earlier post, I never had the money to get a mac,
I was a windows guy using cheap emachines and microstar and suchlike.

More than half of my pc time I was busy keeping them up and running.
Then I got an iPhone 3g, and again I was so impressed.

Then finally I got a Macbook Pro.

And it just WORKS. :) . And that was totally new to me. Then I was trying to find something that doesn't work, or some problem :p. I posted here. But NO problems :) For *my* needs it just works.

And that is what I want :).

My company has bought 4 new Dell xps 13" win7 laptops, (one is for me :p) and the problems with them just go on and on. I will not go into detail what problems because this is not the MS forum :D, but if I see this I always laugh and think by myself:

I will keep using Mac from now on. :)

regards,

TA :)

[OS X] Snow Leopard + Fusion 3 + Windows 7

Currently on my 2 year old iMac I have Snow Leopard, which I upgraded from Leopard. I also have a bootcamp partition with Windows XP Home. I then Installed Fusion 2.0 so I could run Windows from withing OS X. I also have an external hard drive with a Time Machine backup on it. I just bought Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack Upgrade. I would like to wipe the hard drive and do a clean install of everything.

My questions are:

Will I need to upgrade to Fusion 3.0 to run Windows 7 properly?

I used a bootcamp partition last time because I didn't have Fusion yet. I remember there were problems trying to activate Windows a second time when I ran it virtually. I can't remember the last time I booted directly to Windows to run it natively. I do NO gaming so the performance bump is unnecessary. Should I just delete the bootcamp partition and use Fusion to install Windows?

Will I be able to selectively re-install programs and other files from the time machine backup. Also what about firefox and safari Bookmarks and password, etc. A lot of the stuff that's backed up I would just as soon delete to have a really clean start.

Is there a certain order I should install things in like Snow Leopard then Time machine stuff then Fusion and Windows?
