So DOCSIS 3.0 will allow me to reach my 250 GB cap by the 10th of the month instead of the 20th? That is a tecnological triumph. |

| Residential only?
Is the new DOCSIS 3.0 only on the residential side? I checked the online qualifier for my office. It shows the new speeds available on the residential side but not the comcast.net business side.

| DOCSIS 3.0 is awesome--IF comcast will give you a modem
DOCSIS 3.0 launched in Arlington, Virginia several weeks ago, but my experience upgrading to 22/5 suggests Comcast has dropped the ball in informing its technicians and service representatives that the new service tier requires a DOCSIS 3.0 modem--the SB6120, I believe, is the only such modem Comcast currently offers.
Comcast already sent a clueless tech out to my place to upgrade my speed, but they failed to actually give the tech a DOCSIS 3 modem. And my local Comcast office has no idea about the SB6120. I've called Comcast several times and they have no ability to verify they're even capable of getting a DOCSIS 3.0 modem to me. |

For the most current info about service at your exact business location, it's a good idea to call the local comcast business office (or your CC biz. rep. if you are already a CC business customer). Online DB may be behind, too general for your EXACT address, or (unfortunatly) wrong. |

1 edit | 22/5 Makes sense
If your able to get a D3 modem is allows for greater powerboost and more consistant speeds (if it bonds 2+ channels)
as some in the comcast\d3 thread have shown in speed tests some people on 22/5 get powerboosted to 60 or more
so 50/10 might sound great but at double the price its not worth it
now hurry up and get D3 to baytown |

From originally 1500kbps to now 16000kbps, I still do REALLY good to hit 35GB per month.
Getting my files faster than ever - that is a triumph! More speed doesn't mean I have to, or will, download more... or that there is more for me to even consider downloading.
For the majority of Comcast HSI subs, this "cap" means nothing anyways. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

and actualy he "Could" reach it in half a day (50Mbit/8bit-Byte-conv*60sec*60min*24hours)=540,000Mbytes/day possible
but that doesn't mean he has to |

| I don't need faster speeds right now
I'll take a price reduction, thank you.
The only way that faster speeds help is if:
1. You have more than a few computers surfing at the same time.
2. You surf a web site that can actually serve content at 16Mbs.
3. You use P2P. |

You are thinking about speeds and caps all wrong.
Think of it like driving... How fast you go and how far you go are two very different things.
Yesterday it took you 10min to download that file... today it will take you 5 min to download that same file...
Whether you decide to download more files is a completely separate and independent decision. |

Or if you work from home, do online backup or stream legal HD video.
Internet access isn't all about the web and P2P you know. |

said by Logan 5 :4Mbps doesn't really matter all that much.... Must be nice. For me, it's all about the upload speed. I originally went for "Speed" to get the higher upload. Since very few sites can deliver 2MB/sec anyways, and the lower priced service will have the same 2mbps upload, saving that $10 does look appealing.
22/5 for an additional $10 - we'll have to see. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

So why 22/5 and not 20/5 like FiOS? Is it one-upmanship with the FiOS people? |

| Nice...
Just got something in the mail from Comcast on Friday, saying to reset my cable modem for even faster speeds. And this morning the Comcast.com online system has the D3 speeds available at my home (although they add the $3 modem rental fee right from the start, so it's $65.95 and $142.95 for the 22/5 and 50/5 tier respectively -- I guess BYOM isn't available yet?)
I may bump up to the 22/5 tier for a while and see how it goes. I was thinking of trimming down the DirecTV package a bit since we're not watching the premiums as much lately. |

I think Comcast might be doing a little "one-upmanship" but which would you pick if given the choice? (FiOS)
I guess the have the room for more downstream but not as much upstream so they figured they'd one up V in the downstream
but that 22 also has some major powerboost for some people (so I've read) so can V let a 20/5 hit 60 for a few sec? |
