| Welcome to the modern corporate world. Where money drives all decisions and the sole purpose of corporations is profit. Consumers are their cash cows, fenced in by the monopolies and lack of true competition. The government is not there for the people, but for the corporations.
Yep, we live in a fucked up society.

| Re: We new the "Test" would be successful 5GB or even 40GB per month is crap. I consume 40-60GB per month depending on how many moviesI watch on my AppleTV and streaming Audio I listen to. Not to forget Steaming Video on Hulu and ABC. When I signed up with Roadrunner in 2000 TWC stated "Unlimited" use which they obviously are backing away from. If they are to do this, existing contracts need to be grandfathered in. If TWC pull this crap, I'll take my money elsewhere (Cable and Internet) and they can kiss my you know what. | |

| Surprised? Hmmm. Expanding the "trial". So where are those who blasted anyone who dared bitch about Beaumont's "test" and concerns that it would eventually roll out nationwide. Guess it's just another few markets, still no guarantee this will go nationwide right???

you kids need to stop complaining and just fork over 300$ a month for internet or whatever it will take.
my first dsl line cost me 250$ a month for 128/64 and that was cost effective since i could stay connected 24/7. then again every day at midnight they would disconnect you so that your IP would change. yep.

1 edit | OK... Well I don't believe I ever have used anything close to 5-6 GB never mind anywhere between 5 to 40. I've never measured but I can assure you, I haven't ever had that much data go through my line in one month. As for what Time Warner Cable is deciding to do I don't have a problem with it after all it is their network. Their network, their rules, their pricing, their service. The best part about the service is that the customers get to do decide whether to be a part of that service. I for one don't have a problem with continuing to be a part of the service. The only thing that I would find annoying is having to find something to keep track of usage, but that's not a problem for me since I don't do much online that's bandwidth intensive. Only one thing left to say, if they are going to cap, better stop advertising unlimited service. If they do that I think they'll be OK law suit wise.

| Re: OK... Okay, just cancel all internet services. Put your money into a pot and develop your own network. It can be done with wireless routers that sell for less then 100 bucks and put together servers for about the same linking them up wireless, it is already being done. Private internet, when enough people do it you can dump the big boys for good. | |

| bold decision, BOLD PRINT Fine, you want to sell internet access on those terms, post them in CAPTIAL LETTER BOLD PRINT. Ie:
UPTO XX MEGABIT DOWNLOAD AND X MEGABIT UPLOAD WITH 250 GIGABYTE CAP FOR ONLY $57.95
Let's see how well that goes over with the public, especially in areas where Verizon FIOS set up shop side-by-side. Don't try to cloud it, hide it in fine print, hide bandwidth management solutions such as DEPRIORITIZATION deep in the terms of service.. should be the first paragraph (preferably one of the first 3 lines).
This only adds credibility to Verizon's commercial about the "cable guy" ad can only offer 'the best of intentions' to the customer.

@uncc.edu | ha And then the go whine about loss of profits well guess what once people find out you are screwing them over they will take even more of your profits and your company goes deeper into the red. Bye Time Warner let real companies take over my area.

| my guess is this more people then they can handle.and i guess it makes more sense to throttle down so people spend 10 hours downloading a file that normaly takes 5 minutes. so they can keep the channel open for everyone to be at the same level of service 24/7. add to that the fact that movies are pay per view downloadable now. old tech ppy soon to be a thing of the past. it's a new way to generate revenue for those that don't have a job to pay for what they have already. i can't imagine how big a HD movie is. and the 5 weeks it's going to take to download becuase it's throttled down. | |
