The CRTC is an anachronistic, bureaucratic waste of money that should be disbanded. Its policies are almost always in favour of business over the consumer.
When will THAT hearing be held?! |

Unable to unsubscribe to a service even though you can't afford to pay the bills and have an unpaid balance? Canada's consumer protection laws are quite toothless as it is.. but this idea is icing on the cake. It seems the worst of what we've experienced in the USA are still part of Canada's copycat economic policies of the past. Canada always seems to lag the US by about 2-4 years. Perhaps you need to find yourselves a savior prime minister who in previous generations had no shot at winning the post. Begin your search, now. |

Begin your search, now. We've already had our Saviour...his name was Pierre Trudeau and he was back in the 70's...we've been paying for him ever since. You guys are just catching up. Wait till your Saviour starts dangling things like 'Family Allowances' and 'Medicare'. Our Saviour is dead now, but they still speak of him with reverence and his political party is grooming his son to be our next Saviour. |

How do you go about getting something like this fixed. You can talk to your MPP but is there anything else people can do? I feel rather helpless and forced to watch as the CRTC screws us over. |

| Future conversations at Bell...
Emily (Bell Canada's Automated Voice Recognition System) should have it's voice changed to sound like HAL 9000.
BELL"Hello this is Emily, How can I help you?" DAVE:I want to cancel my phone service. "Just a moment...Just a moment." "May I have your name and telephone number; Sorry about this. I know it's a bit silly." --Dave gives his name & number BELL "Good evening, Dave. Everything's running smoothly. And you?" DAVE: No,I am paying too much for my phone service. BELL "There is no question about it. It is nothing serious.Everything is going extremely well" DAVE: What! BELL "Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that." DAVE: You are not paying the bill, just cancel my service. BELL "Are you sure you are making the right decision?" DAVE: Yes, my Friend Frank told me about a few other companies that offer the same service for less money BELL "Are you quite sure?" DAVE: Yes!! BELL "It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before." DAVE: Bell seems to be the most over priced. BELL "Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before and it has always been due to human error." DAVE: That's why I want to switch. BELL "Just what do you think you're doing, Dave?" DAVE: I am trying to cancel my service, I just said that!Look, just cancel my phone! BELL "You're going to find that rather difficult. Just a moment...Just a moment. I know that you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen." DAVE: WHAT! Cancel My phone service!! BELL "Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill and think things over. This conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye." -- The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory. |

He wasn't an idiot, he just wasn't pro-Canadian. He was a closet separatist from Quebec who pushed this 'strong central government' on Canada so he could access the rest of Canada's money...makes it easier to steal that way.
I don't know what kind of person his son is, he seems kind of in over his head when you see him on TV. |

Trudeau was an idiot...plan and simple...so is his son!! Your comment is absurd, plain and simple.
Pierre Trudeau was one of the greatest Prime Ministers ever. He was a supremely honourable man who cared deeply and passionately about doing what was best for the Canadian people and making Canada the best place in the world for people to live. He was instrumental in giving Canadians the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He was a strong nationalist who held the country together in the face of extreme separatist agitation. Justin Trudeau, the son to whom you allude, appears to be a man of similarly fine principles and character.
Contrast Pierre Trudeau with the current disgrace calling himself PM: a neo-con tool of corporations and and foreign powers whose mission, it seems, is to sell this country off to the highest bidder(s). He has already done damage to the rights and future the people of this great land and harmed to its reputation internationally (I challenge you to name one great or even good thing that he has done for the Canadian people). He an insult and an embarrassment to this country, who plays to separatism to divide the nation for purely political purposes. Let us not forget that had he been in power at the commencement of the Iraq war, Canadian soldiers would be dying in Iraq in support of a tragic, unjust and illegal war, participation in which he (at the behest of his foreign masters) argued strongly for at the time. The aforementioned alone should have disqualified him in the minds of Canadian voters from eligibility for office. Then again, it seems many voters have a memory that only dates back only to the last neo-con attack ad. The sooner we are rid of him and his cabal, the better chances that we will eventually recover from his ignominious reign.
Pierre Trudeau was a great man and a great Prime Minister. The current jackass is a great disaster. |

Pierre Trudeau a closet separatist? My God, you couldn't be more wrong. Do schools not teach history these days?
Not only was Trudeau one of the strongest nationalist leaders Canada ever had, but he came out of retirement when separatism reared its ugly head again in the mid-90's to campaign passionately against separatism. He wrote articles at the time fervently defending nationalism - I still have some of them. I lived in Quebec at the time and he was a lion in defence of nationalism!
I'm sorry, but I can't go on responding to you, without resorting to expletives... |

In Pierre Trudeau's dictionary, Nationalist and Socialist were pretty much the same thing. We still have the bloated un-affordable, constantly growing governments and most of us have spent our lives since then as slaves to the state. I don't care what CBC propaganda you wheel out, nothing is going to convince me that Trudeau was anything but the Anti-Christ.
CBC...there's something else badly in need of destruction. |

You know what I hear when you talk like that?...I hear that same fawning adoration of B Hussein Obama...you say the same things in the same style. You are in for a very rude awakening...the world just doesn't work like that.
As for Stephen Harper, he's the best, most down to earth, realistic Prime Minister we've had...ever. Hopefully he can clean up the damage left to us by the generational thieves who supported Pierre Trudeau, Jean Cretien and his slimey, thieving socialist ilk. |

| not to worry i have a plan
ya know how internet cost sin Europe are a tenth what they are here. Everyone go get a European ISP reseller somehow and start soliciting bell clients WACK THEM OVER heck do it to rogers toooooo. i don't care and yes i am one but i don't care. get a web server and STEAL all bells business customers with massively low rates and MAKE CASH. OMG are they all ripping us off.
like more seriously. It's too late bell, your odne and finished if they do that people will just snip the line goto the demarc and change it.
SO what have we happen now. as bell sinks faster then the titanic.....PANIC OH NO WE NED CUSTOMERS, please govt run body that we stuffed full of our own , we need help.
go ahead they will do this and guess what just DONT PAY THE BILL cancel the credit card and tell the company of visa and mastercard why you have to cancel your card.
That will start sending massive shivers out there. TRUST me on that, when mastercard gets 10000 people a month canceling a card and moving to visa because of bell Canada trying to steal cash cause a person wants to cancel and visa gets the same crap you bet there is economic chaos.
OH ya keep at the new card holder to absolutely give you the lowest rates too, good way to shift.
As to the 1st idea if bell now loses enough business clients and such you can be sure that some heads are about to roll. What no unlimited internet awww gee isn't that special , crappy tv and phone service. Well enjoy the next real tight few years and those NON Canadian jobs that offer no tax payer dollars to our economy so we should give adman what happens to bell. |
