I am still leaning more towards Metro PCs even though I am a current TMO customer. But hard to pass out a decent deal like unlimited voice and data for 45 bucks.

I wish more mobile companies advertising their 'unlimited' data plans would get sued for fraud, as it's not really unlimited.
In any event, this is a pretty interesting deal; provided this trend continues, it'll be very intriguing to see what the cellphone world will look like (plan+price wise) in 5-10 years.
Hopefully they'll all offer unlimited talk, text, and data for $30 or less by then (hey, one can hope!  ). |

it's not good to try to compare boost to t-mobile's "loyalty only" offer and then T-mobile to Sprint's simply everything plan.. they're not the same by any means.
Boost is a month to month unlimited talk plan, basically. It has PTT and a very out dated data network and crappy texting service. (And I am actually someone that really does like iDen for its stability)
T-mobile is only offering this plan to limited people and is based on "talk".. there are plug in options that you can add on if you want, and yes, taxes are a reality, just like death.
Sprint.. as far as I'm concerned, is the most upfront, honest, out there "unlimited" or "all inclusive" plans. Simply put.. $99 for anything that your phone is capable of doing.
AT&T and Verizon are not going to change.. not for a long time at least. If they were interested in doing so, they'd have done it a long time ago. Besides, if anything does come from them, it won't come this year, rather, more like 1st quarter next year, 2010. The unlimited voice plans have been out for about a year now.. people are often locked in 2 year contracts.. and, right about now, not too many people are interested in getting locked in another term for any reason with the economy in so much of a mess.
And, now we've hit yet a new low in the stock market. Maybe a sub 5000 stock market isn't too far away. I don't think ANYONE can predict anything right now.. |

I left TMo in Sept after more than 10 years with Voicestream, Omnipoint, and then TMobile. TMo's free phone offerings were crappy and ATT offered me more for my money. TMo would send me a new phone every year and they gave me great deals like a $200 phone for $49 with a free month of service that made the phone free. Last year they wanted full price on the phone I wanted and weren't willing to deal so I left.
But now I get more bars in more places and I can use my cell phone in the basement at work after not having a TMo signal there ever. |
