I did hear that Ford outside of the USA makes far superior cars to Fords made inside the USA. Maybe that is to what he is referring. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012! |

There are some fast Fords out there. I might be happy if I had one of those.

Sure people would be happy with a Ford as long as its not the old Ford Pinto.
Comparing DSL to fiber as a Ford to Ferarri isnt really accurate, its more of a Yugo to Ford, a Ferarri would be an OC3 or something. -- Im Your Boogeyman, Thats What I Am |

If they were going for car analogies..
Well I would want a Chevy truck over a pinto car. That pinto car may get the job done, but it can't do any heavy lifting like the chevy could, can, and will do. Fibers all about expanding capabilities...at least that's what I take it as. |

1 edit | The "we" in "what we want"
While the "we" majority changes over time, "they" must factor in where most of the "we" is now.
0.5% of subscribers consume about 40 percent of total bandwidth 10% of subscribers consume 80 percent of bandwidth. 80% of subscribers use less than 10 percent of bandwidth
Which "we" do "they" build for now? and later?

See what I did?
I'm tired of hearing random stats about how much people use thrown out.
BTW, you know what is also enjoyable? Comcast were the ones who said 1% of users use over 250 gigs a month.
For every argument of caps, idiots who agree with them use that argument, down to 10 gigs for TWC. |

Is fiber really needed for the pathetic speeds that FiOS and U-Verse give today?
The answer is no. These can be done over coax. |

Most times I laugh at all the outrageous statements CEO's make. Makes me wonder if they are really in touch with there customers. Just shows the limited vision he has on where the internet should be in the next 10 years. When someone only looks at emails and browse the net once in awhile, of course they won't care how fast there internet is. -- "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them" Thomas Jefferson |

I believe that is a 59 Chev Impala and while Chev as a company looks to be in about that condition, Ford on the other hand isn't looking for bailouts yet, and some of Ford's European cars are rather well thought of, even on Top Gear.

I think they'll be just fine though, I don't think we're that lucky. |

You bill people for the maximum amount they could potentially use (durr hurr cuz thats wut it cost u durr) and then cry when only 10% of your customers are actually using the service? 80% of your subscribers are basically giving you their money and getting nothing in return, you are making insane amounts of money on these people. How can you justify screwing the people who are actually using the service you sold to them in the way which you described it to them in the first place? |
