I can just see VCast taking over the ITunes store app.

Why would apple want an exclusive deal with any company? Look how popular Blackberry is. Apple, and all hardware in general, should be available to ALL carriers |

I would like to know where the truth stands behind this.....It seems that both camps have said that it will not happen yet stories keep getting written suggesting it will.....confused. Although I would love it to happen. |

They're looking to move from one overpriced carrier to another. Yay Apple!
Still, I'd take VZ over AT&T any day. I have very high hopes for the Palm Pre; I'll be picking mine up when it (hopefully) comes out next month!

They are not going to do a CDMA version, and they are not going to do a LTE version until there coverage is much higher. 30 markets is not enough to launch the iPhone on verizon. |

If I remember correctly, the Palm Pre is a Sprint exclusive, at least initially, and NOT Verizon. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page |

CDMA chips will still be needed just in case you are in areas where there won't be LTE Coverage for data, so it can fall back to the EVDO Rev-A. I don't think if it does comes out for Verizon they will be that stupid not to have a cdma chip built-in with LTE chips. |

Perhaps, Verizon might loosen up on this one....if they do allow App Store and iTunes instead of their Get it Now and V Cast Music or Rapsody. |

There is a hybrid chip version which is GSM/cdma and LTE. |

Yep, Sprint exclusive for the initial launch, which is slated for the end of this month. (fingers crossed) The specs for the Palm Pre are exactly what I want. On paper, it is my dream phone, hope it doesn't disappoint. |

Once AT&T gets there network in check, this wont be a problem. Hopefully by the end of this year with all the things they are doing, there network will no longer be as big of an issue. |

He didn't say Verizon is looking for Apple exclusivity. He's questioning Apple's decision to be exclusive to AT&T only. Instead of being available to all carriers like Blackberry's are. |

In my area it boils down to coverage.
Verizon has it, AT&T doesn't. If I drive less than half a mile within my subdivision I lose coverage on AT&T. |

How long have we been hearing this? Integration and major expansion has been underway at at&t for years... |

Not happening, brand dilution. Iphone is an integrated experience, Verizon wouldn't get it if it didn't play by Apple's rules. And fat chance of getting BREW (GetItNow) to run on an iPhone anyway, all its DRM will be quickly broken since it runs on Unix. |
