| Their billing department needs work. Rochester, MI My phone bill for 5 phones, unlimited airave, unlimited texting, unlimited internet, 1400 anytime minutes. Is $280 a month (Sprint is the cheapest I can find next to t-mobile which has shit service in the places I normally am, so switching without severe compromise is not an option right now). "Magically" $15-$75 of BS charges appear on my bill EVERY month that I have to constantly fight. Sometimes it's impossible to get them to refund me or remove the service that I allegedly signed up for. There are just games and ringers that I never purchased. I used to yell at the kids for running up my bill, but when a game and 2 ringers showed up on my account, I couldn't believe they pull this crap.
When I went to upgrade all my phones, I got razrs for the family and a ppc6700 for myself. I had to fight for months to get my rebates. Constantly telling my they weren't filled out right all three times I sent them in. The first time the store sent them in, I saw them meet all the requirements and they dropped it into the mailbox on my way out. Those razrs were pos. They were constantly in for service... So then they "upgraded" us to samsung sliders (whatever model was out, can't remember, m530 maybe?), also crap. Constantly freezing, resetting, and dropping calls. Same things that the razrs were doing. Then they upgraded us to the Rants. (After every upgrade they gave me a new 2-year agreement complimentary of course.) Which by far have been the best phones, no freezing, no dropped calls in full signal areas like the last two models, no problems with em'. But they still are stiffing us on our rebates for over 3 months now. My "upgrade" ppc6800 has been fine once I took all the crap software off of it, my 6700/6800 never had signal problems like the first two crap models I talked about. and the Airave is awesome for getting coverage in my house with unlimited calling. Something which no other provider can offer me reliably at this time (coverage in my house nor unlimited calling while at home). ALL THAT SAID, I love Sprints pricing, Internet speed, and coverage over the other providers in my area. But I am so damn sick of them screwing up my bill every month AND stiffing me on flipping rebates every time. Every single one of my friends and family with sprint are experiencing the same crap with their bills and rebates. No wonder Sprint is bleeding customers. Just my experience over the last 5 years... At leased Comcast stopped pulling their s**t on me about two years ago.

| Sprint Is Truly Awful. Sprint is one of the worst companies I've had the misfortunate of coming into contact with. The previous poster commenting about incorrect billing is absolutely correct; despite having a national, no roaming plan with early nights and weekends on which I never exceeded my alloted minutes, Sprint could never seem to send me the same bill twice.
The service itself also was awful. At my home, I could use their service with all my bars during prime time. Magically, when 7pm rolled around, I could never get more than a bar or two and all my calls would drop within 15-20 minutes of initiating them.
Switched to T-mobile 3 years ago and I couldn't be happier.
Sprint is like the syphillis of cell phone companies. If they were the only game in town, I'd do without.

| No Problems w/Sprint Service While I'm not surprised so many people have so many problems with Sprint/Nextel my experience is completely different. I had Nextel first, from when it was just plain old Nextel, then got a Razr and a second account under Sprint post acquisition. My son still uses the ancient Nextel phone that I had bought second hand anyway because I needed it for my job back then. The only thing is we have hardware problems with both phones. Neither wants to hold a charge, both have new batteries. We just make sure they are fully charged and keep our chargers in the car so we can keep them up and running on the fly. We don't have problems with actual the cell service at all. I've never had problems with customer service personnel either! At least they're AMERICANS who speak English, have always been very nice and seem to know wtf they're talking about. And I have never had any weird, unaccounted for or unauthorized charges on my bills. (BTW, I also got my rebate for the Razr w/o any problems.) I haven't had a job for a year and have problems paying my bill on time. I use pay-by-phone and make sure I pay at least half before they cut service. They 'never ever' give me any grief about this. When I get back to work I will change companies only because I want an iPhone not because I'm particularly unhappy with Sprint and will keep the Nextel as long as the phone is operational...let's face it, because they have us over a barrel all these big corps suck and they all rip us off . It's only a matter of degree and indvidual experience with whatever company you're using at the time. | |
