Just buy DISH already, and become the number 1 TV provider in the states.
The fail will be that much more glorious when satellite TV fails in 5-10 years. |

DishNetwork and DirecTV tried to merge in the past, but were denied by the government. However, they should try again after Sirius and XM were allowed to merge. Their argument was that the internet and other technologies give them too much competition that did not exist ten years ago. DishNetwork and DirecTV can say that the cable companies and telephone companies are now offering TV service, which they did not do ten years ago. |

Now that Dish is quickly approaching D* in terms of HD, I don't expect this trend to continue. |

Not to mention they are late adding HD channels and DISHonest Charlie is always cheaping out resulting in channels being dropped. |

"satellite TV fails in 5-10 years" Not gonna happen unless cable gets to every house in America AND drops their price to satellite level. I would pay at LEAST $20 more a month if I had comcast(not that I can get it just saying) and the charge $7 for the first HD box and $13 for each one after that, well around here anyway(my grand parents were looking in to comcast HD) Dish $5 for each box. |

That's why I left DISH for Direct. Direct had far more of the channels I watch in HD that DISH did at the time. |

| reply to Eat Me said by Eat Me :Not to mention they are late adding HD channels and DISHonest Charlie is always cheaping out resulting in channels being dropped. They may be late, but last month they surpassed DirecTV in national HD count. They now sit at 140 national HD channels to Direct's 130. Not only that, but they still have capacity to turn up more, while DirecTV is stuck until they get another bird launched late this year.
DirecTV's success is largely due to successful advertising campaigns coupled with locking up NFL Sunday Ticket and paying the premium to carry MLB Extra Innings. The subscriber gains come at a cost though. Direct made $201 million on $4.90 billion in revenue, while Dish made $313 million on $2.91 billion in revenue. That's impressive considering most (not all) Dish subscribers end up paying less than they would for the same channels with DirecTV. |

Plus the HD content has increased drastically. |

The only reason I am going to Dish over Direct when my Cable contract expires is because Dish currently offers more in HD for a lower price than Direct. I just hope they don't have any more fiasco's by dropping channels. |

Facist Obama will nationalize Dish Network or bankruptcy auction it rather then let it merge. |
