They also forget the 50% price increase AT&T took on iPhone data plans along with the effective price increase of not including any texting in the base plan (the old plan incl 200 txts I believe). |

Exactly. Never mind the fact that when I was already an AT&T customer and paid full price for my iPhone as I was not eligible for an upgrade they renewed my contract for another year. |

Idiotic service plans that have a 12 page EULA make me think it is time for me to seriously reconsider my wants versus needs. Since all providers are moving in the wrong direction perhaps the solution is to say a Pox on all your houses. |

1. This guy is not out for consumer's best interest. His only concern is for himself first and stockholders second. So what if consumers are getting a good deal, he needs to make money and the only way he can is by knowing how the stock price will do. If he has it, he wants it to go up so it is worth more. If he sells it short, he'll want the stock to go down.
2. Many of these morons want their own "cult of personality" where people will trust everything they say and hang on their every word like the old E.F. Huttun commercials (if any of you remember those.) These guys love to be the center of attention and hate being wrong because they lose face.
Moffet is one who wants to manipulate the market to his own advantage. He is trying to make things happen and that falls dangerously close to market manipulation. |

CS is clueless. I asked them how I changed my actual plan vs adding on an iPhone data package. They said it didn't change. I then asked how they could renew the agreement and they said that is what happens when you get the iPhone. I asked then if I was not just adding a plan but renewing a contract then I should have not paid full price and they should have subsidized the phone or kept my original contract date....

They should offer the consumer the data plan as an option. I use Wi-Fi more than the data plan and at $30 extra a month I think I might go back to my Blackberry. |

I recently went through the fiasco of canceling my data plan only to have it "auto added" on my account. This really made me angry and I'm seriously considering stopping use of my iPhone all together. I love the phone, but I cannot justify the price each month. I barely use any data and I'm paying $30 a month for it. |

Seriously. If you raise rates, PEOPLE WILL LEAVE. Greedy shareholders who want to get rich quick on the stock market (something that historically wasn't the case...long term investment anyone?), with their two minute view of what's gong on, are some of the reasons why our communications companeis seem glued to the bottom line rather than actually providing decent service.
Seriously, every time Craig Moffett opens his mouth AT&T should buy back some of its stock, or do something to show that investors aren't going to ruin their company... |

So, Do those same investors realize that if they go to a per-byte model for smartphone plans, they will suddenly be paying an arm and a leg to keep up on all those market updates and other "gotta have it" features they've come to rely on?
It's not like smartphone users are the same class of everyman like standard residential broadband customers. I could be wrong here, but even with the IPhone, aren't a majority of smartphone's still used by businesses or for business purposes? |
