They should have paid the users $5

I would allow them to monitor me for $5 per month.
My wife might also. $10 total! cool.

Another will take its place

I'm sure... they'll learn from NebuAds mistakes and come back when the economy starts a comeback.

Re: .

I second that.

Just like the government, I want my ISP to leave me ALONE. What I surf is my business....

I agree with you -- if some company ever actually were to *pay* people to snoop on them and serve them targeted ads, a lot of people would sign up.

Just a thought but.....

....wouldn't it be cheaper and easier just to buy user's surfing data from the ATT/NSA iSpyCenter?

I do not see

I see why so many people took issue with NebuAD in the first place. What they were doing seemed illegal.

They're the same extreme r'wing nutcakes that change their online id/avatar/location on a monthly basis.

Legal, yes. Ethical, not even by a long shot. This is why...

quote:
As we've stated in the past, NebuAD's cookie-based system opted users out of receiving the system's targeted ads, but it didn't opt them out of data collection and sales.
When I request an opt-out of something I should be able to opt out completely of any activity that company does with my information. This half ass approach of yeah you will no longer receive ads but we will still collect and mine your information with the potential possibility of selling it for gods amount of money to another company is just plain flat out wrong and immoral in every way you can think of. It is my information, I generate it, I should have complete control over it, plain and simple.

I won't offer any insults, as you do have a valid point.

I offer this counter-point. It is also not illegal to rape a being from another planet. They don't enjoy human rights because that only applies to a human from this planet.

That's a silly counterpoint, but they offer the same insight. Neither are illegal because up until it happens, nothing of the event ever existed. Kind of like "Methamphetamine" was not illegal when it was first created.

So I could offer then "I don't see why so many people took issue with raping women from planet XYZ, what they were doing was perfectly legal" or "I don't see why so many people took issue with me giving meth to my kids everyday, what I was doing was perfectly legal".

Something not being illegal doesn't always mean it should never be illegal.

Good riddance, NebuAD!!

@ntl.com

So, Nebuad slinks off never to be seen.....

.... or do they?

They've just moved to Britain to start up again because they know our government is refusing to enforce EU data interception laws and so giving these parasites such as nebuad and phorm some illusion that what they do will be ratified legal in out courts. Think again.
