Oh come on....

Some of the claims seem to be BS some do not. When he claims travel time is he referring to Travel time to and from work because he has a company truck? I have a hard time believing that Charter makes you "clock out" when you are driving.

let them fail

I can't see how reorganizing is going to help any of these failing companies. If they had what it takes to be profitable and offer superior service...then that's what they would be doing.

Reorganizing: re-name company, paint the trucks another color then repeat every 2-3 years.

Damn

Man they really need to just die already so that no one can sue them anymore lol. I really wonder how they acn really operate still with so much abuse on all sides. That is just crazy.

Please Charter, die already.....

They need to go under and have their assets bought by companies who truly want to GROW their business....not simply maintain or decrease it. That place is a joke to deal with, even on a local basis. Of course....my opinion only...

You mean have TWCand comcast buy them and be one step closer to a country wide cable monopoly?

Comcast probably can't buy 'em because of the 33% rule. Now if they can get around that rule then yes, they'll probably buy and it'll be a step closer to a cable monopoly.

Otherwise the big buyer would be Time Warner Cable (they serve Kansas City so the STL market isn't too terribly far away). Problem there is that TWC is stuck in 2002...they don't want to deploy DOCSIS 3.0 anywhere unless there's heavy competition, and they want to cap everyone as soon as possible to protect their TV revenues. Unless you have a lot of competition in your area for internet service, you don't want TWC to take over.

Unfortunately I still need Charter. I wish Verizon or even Cox or Comcast would pick-up their territory in SE Louisiana but one can only wish!

I hope Charter comes through this they provide quality service in my area. Its good to have options when choosing a provider if Charter left my area that would leave ATT with there 100 year Uverse roll out plan.

Direct Tv, just poken fun..

"Charter apparently had enough extra remaining legal resources to recently sue DirecTV for ads claiming that the bankrupt carrier was going under"

I actually found those adds to be vary amusing lol, but what they said was true, charter is bankrupt... Don't create your own bad PR if you cant handle it lol. If they could handle there own money they would not be in that situation so its there own fault

Charter makes over a Billion dollars a year. Once they come out of Chapter 11, they should be aligned to actually make money, instead of swimming in their debt load. Then they just pay off what they owe, and we'll see what happens.

As for this "story" Field technicians also recently sued the cable operator for back pay...that happened over 16 months ago. Slow news day as usual I guess

Being bankrupt and filing for Chapter 11 protection are not the same thing. Not even close actually. All signs point them coming out of Chapter 11 in much better operating shape. Only time will tell.

i have had great performance in my area over the last 2 years from charter, 10mbit/1mbit and for the last 5 months it has been 20mbit/2mbit. I have been getting consistant speeds, little to no downtime, and transparent (non existant?) caps.

I would NOT like to see TWC or comcast here.

Same here. Charter rocked me for over 9 years. Never had an issue to speak of.

Only reason I switched to Verizon was the threat of Charter monitoring usage and NOT telling it's customers or having a way to determine/show your usage.

Turned out that I got faster speeds with Verizon and it's $7 a month cheaper!!

Charter rocks!

I consistently get 90% of my rated speeds at my home in southeastern WA. Service is great, price isn't too bad, and Verizon refuses to give me more than 768k at this house. (which is less than half a mile from my old apartment where I had 3 megabit)

Re: Please Charter, die already.....

I live in Mandeville. I already had cable, so I scheduled a technician for HSI. A sub-contractor came, spent 5 hours and could not get the HSI to work. In the months that followed, here is what happened:
1. 30 phone calls to Charter Customer Service
2. 27 Charter Customer Service people hanging-up the phone on me and transferring me to the Spanish line as a joke
3. 7 Charter Customer Service people calling me the "s, f, and a" words

So, I called AT&T. Within 3 hours, I had DSL service.
