You think you can trust him not to use Onstar to spy? Almost exactly what I was going to say. He pretty much turned AT&T over to the government. Obviously, they're looking for the same now... not innovation... a government puppet will do.
I imagine the only reason they're trying to hold onto parts of GM while letting Chrysler go has something to do with something GM builds for the military and their man will save that capability at all cost to the company and the public... and lie about everything to the public of course... Obama couldn't have "fired" a CEO unless it was a matter of national security. Guy would have never let it happen otherwise. Even then, something must be extremely corrupt for him to fold so easily.
Onstar was the building and testing of a system to track every vehicle, enable the police to shut down any vehicle and tax the heck out of Americans by the mile. This stuff has been attempted to be pushed through. So far, Congress isn't having it. Just like the grocery store cards are the building and test of the system that will track, trace and tax every transaction using some type of global ID. Your driver's license is already globally standardized. The system's built. There's just that darn Constitution... So... things will have to get bad enough to where Americans will accept being "rescued" by shredding it the rest of the way.

| GM is going to be sold Sergio Marchionne that currently run Fiat was not a car guy either. Fiat is now in a good position due to very wise decision making. Hopefully we will see the same here. I have said it many times before, GM will be a foreign entity very very soon due to either a "partnership" or merger. GM has always been a target in this manner, one of the only things that prevented it from happening are GM's legacy costs(which are much much smaller), union contracts (which are much altered now) and the sheer cost (GM is now much smaller, stock extremely low and no one really cares much for them). Why would another entity now look the other way when they can snatch this up on the cheap after it comes out of bankruptcy?
Ed Whitacre will position GM for sale or merger in order to increase stock holder value (those that are let anyway). This is America dude, the only thing that matters is shareholder value, not keeping an American nameplate American.
