| In Houston.... I have never had any trouble as far as reception goes. I almost always have fast speed and rarely ever drop 3G connectivity. There are only a few locations where I have dropped to EDGE connection. I have travelled to Freeport, Galveston, Highway 290 and 45 and Airline...etc. That's almost a 100 mile radius in a major city. I have NEVER had reception problem with AT&T, and I've had the BlackBerry Bold, iPhone 3G, and I now have the 3GS.
Not just that, but AT&T's customer service is among the better ones I've seen, and I've worked with Sprint and (currently) T-Mobile. I don't know if AT&T uses outsourced custome care reps or not, but I have never gotten stuck on the phone with them for hours. T-Mobile on the other hand.....
Here in the US, T-Mobile is still BARELY implementing 3G in some cities whereas the rest of the Big Four already have great 3G coverage. Also, T-Mobile's network has nowhere near the strength's of Sprint, AT&T or Verizon.
T-Mobile are giants in Europe, where their customer base is larger than every carrier in the US combined, but here in the States? No way.
Also, read the article about how Verizon's 'Unlimited' data truly isn't. If the iPhone met their data standards, users like me would be pissed. I am a HEAVY data user---even on my Bold, my usage topped 150 Megabytes. |
