Domain hosting not transferred

I currently have my domain name hosted by Phoenix, they route me my mail as well. I called Telocity to ask what I needed to do to transfer my domain from Phoenix to them...they said that Telocity will not host my domain , this is considered a business service. They said I needed to call Megapath. Megapath doesn't pick up the phone, we'll see if they respond to my vmail.

Anyone else out there have any luck finding out about DNS registration for your domain name through Telocity?

Re: Domain hosting not transferred

This is contrary to what their webpage says regarding their 'value' service. See the following links:

No Phoenixdsl Cancellation Fee

If you have a contract with Phoenixdsl and they cannot provide you with your residential dsl service then they are breaking their part of the contract.

You do not have to pay them a cancellation fee.

Simply do not accept the Telocity service. If you are being billed automatically on a credit or debit card then be sure to change the account number or close the account.

I am really worried!!!! I may go back to 56k

I have been over billed by two months by MegaPath/Phoenix as they hand my account off to Telocity. I have tried to contact their phantom customer service from the dead at phoenix networks. But there is no response.

I don't have any warm fuzy from the Telocity review post on this site.

So I am very mad! I plan to contact my congressional representatives, to pass laws to regulate this crapy service.

This totally sucks.

Join the Class Action

As a PhoenixDSL subscriber, I am irked by PhoenixDSL's attempt to terminate its contract and unfairly impose termination fees of up to $300.

As an attorney, I am considering filing a class action suit against Megapath and PhoenixDSL. If you are interested in information as to how you can participate in this class action (at no cost to you), please contact me via email or telephone.

Attached is a copy of the PhoenixDSL contract as of August 2000, in case it is any help.

No termination fee

I sent Telocity a nasty-gram complaining about them upping the price and not allowing me to cancel. They responded by saying there will be no termination fee! I am going to have a cable modem line installed, and then cancel my Phoenix/MegaPath/Telocity service.

We are in trouble.

It’s not that easy to order new ISP. I called yesterday my local phone company and they told my that my phone line is leased by my current ISP ( phoenix or teleocity ) and until
They not release this phone line I’ll not be able to order new Dsl service. So looks like we are screwed. Today I’ll try to call Telocity, so I’ see what they tell me about it.
Only option is to order new phone line. By the way my service stop working.

Re: We are in trouble.

Mine stopped working 2 days ago for no reason.
The 3com sdsl bridge still shows sync.
I can ping the phoenix gateway from the internet.
But their router refuses to forward packets
between myself and the internet. Again, they
are futther breaking their contract..
Anon More than a week ago my trusty 3Com SDSL Modem stopped delivering. No fanfare, just a complete stop on the delivery end. The Data lite still blinks intermittently, a tease or cynical mocking I'm not sure which. When it stopped I emailed to the mysterious help people eventually receiving a reply that went to this effect:
You need to change your account name for your email to the full email address.

so account name: xxxxxx@xxxxx.com, you may need to use xxxxx%xxxxx.com,
since some email clients do not like @.

your mail servers are mail.xxx.com

This has been posted on our site for weeks.

I called Telocity and said that if I couldn't get this going or a tech person to talk to I would leave. the contact person wished me well and said they would cancel my account. Gee, why did I want to do that? Oh well, maybe cable modem won't be so bad, or maybe DSL from a highly rated company like Panix. A significant price increase but at least technical people who do answer the phone and provide good hand holding.
