Fraud. Incompetence. Verizon is not free from culpability and should be pursued over this. At the very least, the unique "tax writeoff" they received for the Fairport deal should be rescinded by the IRS. |

Assuming Verizon followed the letter of the law that allowed them to have this writeoff why should Verizon be punished for the poor business decisions made by someone else?
That sounds almost as silly and preposterous as forcing US taxpayers to bail out banks that made bad loans to people who should not have been borrowing in the first place.
