Time Warner should introduce Power Boost on the upload side as well.

A joke.

The fact that TWC hasn't even started deploying DOCSIS 3.0 until now is already a big joke, and it is an even bigger joke that the only reason they are doing it is because Verizon made some promises.

There where there isn't any competition..... you can pretty much forget about seeing DOCSIS 3.0 for the next few YEARS at least.

RR West Side midtown Man'h

Yup still 20/.5 here on TWC. Won't bother with the extra
freight charges tho. Sooner just drop the TV part of package,
pay a bit more for just cable modem.
Actually RR been more stable lately. But the TV side has annoying pattern of breaking up & off since got digital box,
mainly on the highter channels.
D/Ls ok but ups lag on RR. Typical I gather.

Upstream bonding.

The package's will become more promising as they roll out remember this is just a new offer once more and more people sign up they will come out with deals. Upstream Bonding is on its way in 2010, the technology is being tested by Cisco but not released yet.

I like the complainers posting, You guys wanted faster internet so TWC is offering faster internet and now that they are offering faster internet you say they suck. You dont know what you guys want seriously.

Digital Break up on you digital set top box means you either have to many splitters installed a bad fitting, old fitting or possibly a RADIO SHACK splitter somewhere.

I believe most people know what they want. Faster and more reliable internet speeds at a better price. Something that seems to only exist in competition markets and suffer in monopolized markets.

"Time Warner Cable is a proven innovator"?

They seem to be the LEAST innovative out of all the major providers. They do as little as they can get away with ("upgrades will be surgical"). The only thing I can even think of that they've really "innovated" is consumption based billing, and they even failed at that. Way to go, Time Warner.

I look forward

To seeing this upgrade in 2030 for where I live. I am sure they will only upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0 where telco companies deploy FTTH.

Long live free markets and competition.

Only where fios is

big surprise there

@qcrepro.com

Won't see it in SW Ohio

Still stuck at 15/768 for Turbo. Cincinnati Bell is offering FTTH (10/10,20/10,50/20) all for less that RR Turbo. Of course, it's not available everywhere yet. Crossing my fingers that it comes to my area soon. Tired of paying for "Turbo"(what a joke).

Re: just got wideband

can you disable their wireless and use your own router?

rrnyc212

@rr.com
you got the wrong modem. they did that with mine too and i was getting 30/5. i finally called in and the smbc modem they gave me was the wrong version that didn't support docsis 3.

the third time they sent someone here, that person finally brought the right modem and i am getting a constant 51/5.02 connection!

Re: just got wideband

My appointment is tomorrow - can you let me know the correct model - as well as how it might work with an existing high-end wi-fi router. Can you shut off the wi-fi on theirs?

Installation Fail

TWC came out to the house to install and spent an hour here to then tell me that it isn't available in my area until the 8th of October. What a waste of a day.

Go figure!

It seems like the Sunnyside/Woodside area is left out, yet again.

Verizon and Time Warner will blitz to cover the "heart" of New York and the far fringes, but conveniently leave out the neighborhoods right in between.
