Comments on news posted 2010-01-04 18:37:05: Time Warner Cable was successfully spun off from Time Warner early in 2008 in order to give both companies "greater operational, financial and strategic flexibility," according to Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes. ..

More subtle... like CacheCreek.

Unfortunately that name is already in use by a casino.

Actually, it's Cache Creek I am not too far from Cache Creek (not the casino, the creek that gives it it's name).

ok I admit I laughed out loud, heartily, at Cialistica Communications.

How about reclaiming their RoadRunner name? RoadRunner Cable

How about reclaiming their RoadRunner name? It is/was a subsidiary of Time Warner Cable. Of course the RoadRunner name is also used by Bright House Networks and Insight Communications, so maybe there are legal niceties that would have to be cleared up 1st.

Re: How about reclaiming their RoadRunner name? RoadRunner Cable

doubt any legal issues would arise..especially since RoadRunner basically provides the data part for Insight and BB. But only in Columbus OH for Insight. Bright also used to be TWC so it could be a great way to get them back all under 1 roof... Maybe TWC will take AOL and use the AOL brand. AOL Cable

No more Time Warner

Since they really are a seperate company from Time Warner now, it is logical that they want to drop the Time Warner name.

Perhaps they should just call themselves Adelphia, it would save a lot on the logo's, email domains, etc that they already own.

Or maybe they should simply call it Roadrunner Cable. It may be a Warner Bros cartoon figure, but the RoadRunner character is great advertisement.

I vote: "ROADRUNNER CABLE"

Re: No more Time Warner

they already have access to a Warner Bros. cartoon charcter---The RoadRunner...haven't you seen their ads or been on their site or anything RR related with a logo? He's there and isnt' going anywhere.

But Adelphia would be a great brand to pick back up. But as far as emails addresses go, they'll never put them back in use after everyone has been switched to the **.rr.com or roadrunner.com branded emails.

If they could change the emails that would be even better.

Oh, I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL that they leave Adelphia, RoadRunner and Time Warner behind completely, come up with a complete new name and domain name, and make everyone switch to email@newname.com - whatever that may be..... and completely get rid of anything slightly warner-related OR bought-out providers.

I frankly don't care much, I don't use provider email.

Re: No more Time Warner

i think TW Cable actually owns the Adelphia brand and not Time Warner, Inc. It would be smart to bring back a grand that a lot of people know, especially since they have access to that domain.

It would be smart to change the domain though and get rid of the RR brand. Especially since it belongs to Time Warner, Inc.

Id be all for if the addresses were email@newname.com and nothing else. The same as all the other providers do it.

But like you, I don't use their email either.

TW Cable is my bet.

They'll probably do what Time Warner Telcom did, which is shorten Time Warner to TW and become TW Telcom. They also changed their logos as well:
»www.twtelecom.com/Documents/Anno···INAL.pdf

So Time Warner Cable would become TW Cable with different logos.

It seams to me the main goal of the name change is to lose the Time Warner part of their name, since it's really separate company now. TW Cable would accomplish that.

Good time for a merger

While TWC is thinking about how they will rename themselves, Comcast swoops in, buys them and the problem is solved: just call everything Comcast

Alternately, Adelphia would work (heck, that's what TWC's ASN is still called) or RoadRunner Cable. Just remember to buy up BHN and a couple of Insight markets first.

why buy up the BHN markets? They already own part of them and have for a long time now. They used to be TWC and then changed the name over to BH.

They won't keep RoadRunner - to close to Warner Bros. who is TW. RR will change its name as well.
