Apple's own apps have been reengineered for the new screen size. This is only third-party apps we're talking about. While a few third-party developers may have had early access, the new SDK is only out to the public today.

Valencia, CA | 1. You don't NEED it for this device (assuming its not going to be used like a phone 'everywhere')
2. You can 'MiFi' if that's your choice, and assuming it supports USB, add a USB 3G connection
I don't think its a 'bad' device, but nothing to write home about.
I suspect that its primary use will be for those at home, or somewhat mobile, replacing the big PC or a more portable laptop.
