VanPremium join:2009-07-08 New Orleans, LA | I wouldn't really have a problem with this IF IF IF the FBI was required to get warrants for them wanting information with specific people....
But them just having access to everyones information without needing any judicial approval is downright scary

| seems like there is more to it I just find it sad that the FBI is trying this. The only reason is because currently they need a search warrant to seize a computer to "hopefully" gain your internet logs, sniffing for illegal stuff. Currently it is illegal for ISP's to record ANY information about where you go on your connection. It is an attempt by the FBI to gain access to a vast amount of records to make catching anyone who does anything remotely wrong on the internet and prosecuting them. Also, this would make illegal file sharing easy as shit to catch(not that I endorse such things, but we need our privacy), as all incoming and outgoing connections would be logged. I believe this has an underlying push from the RIAA and MPAA. | |

Robert Mueller is a Bush (republican) administration appointee. June 2001, ten year term.
They learned nothing after losing the both Congress and Presidency. Instead the NEOCONS continue their pattern of slash and burn politics.
Looks like President Obama still has to clear out some more dead wood left behind by his predecessor.

If it passes someone write a trojan that its only job is to make an army of zombie pcs to ping every ip address on the internet once amagine 2 million pcs doing that.. how much data it would be

| | eh if you have any understanding of the fbi or how they operate this is 100% politics... there is nothing complicated about how things work... we will go about our business as usual there is no strategic advantage for isps to maintain logs it serves no purpose what so ever... same ol story although capabilities exist for large scale disruption and havoc and scams and all sorts of mischief most people arent interested in such activities we are on top of the mountain in our lives the focus should clearly be on more simple aspects such as over priced bandwidth and poor service... trust me our privacy is the least of our concerns why are we being charged outrages rates for capped bandwidth that our infrastructure can easily absorb | |
