So in order to 'buy' HBO they will force you to be buying a package from your local cable company.
I understand that they will not break away to sell direct at this time. It will only be when a new service, similar to HBO's content, starts selling directly.
When this happens, there will be true competition, with lower prices.
So I just heard about this thing and I go and check it out from work. It lets me sign up with my Verizon info, and lets me log in....but wont play anything. I updated Flash and still nothing.
Are they seriously limiting this service to Comcast's and Verizon's networks ? Who the hell would use this thing if I have to be on my home conenction where I already have HBO and HBO on Demand ? This can't be true......
They shall try a different strategy, offering this service as a standalone one without needing to be a subscriber first. Have a look here for more information about this project: »www.thehdstandard.com/video-broa···-portal/
