| Ultra going away In case anyone missed it in the photo, there's a star next to Ultra saying it won't be available to order after April 1st.
So the price isn't going up, but if you don't have it by April 1st, you can't get it. --

| what a joke the folks @ comcast would have you think they are indispensable. nothing could be farther from the truth. it is exceeding well documented that the size of cable tv/internet rate hikes is obscenely higher than most if not other industries' rate increases. one of these days, and it might be sooner rather than later, the bean counters at comcast are going to push many (me) right out the door. not that we cannot pay----more like we WILL NOT pay their usurious rates. | |

AT&T has done f-all in my immediate neighborhood to upgrade us. Hell I can't even get 6Mbps DSL.
Now I am flying high with my new service, I own the modem and life is good for now.

| | Save $ Here is what I have. Prepaid cellular- Approx. $100 for phone, activation, 1000 minutes and one YEAR service. And I have Magic Jack- on its own dedicated cheap pc. on 24/7 it is only $20 per YEAR after you buy it for $40 and it includes a free year. ANd I have free (uncompressed) HDTV (16 stations) courtesy of the new digital broadcast signals. My biggest bill is $24.99. a month for 1mps max download DSL. The phone co. wanted $45 a month for 3mps DSL when I cancelled my $45 per month land line (in state service only). I was like are you kidding I can get cable internet for a year for only $35 a month. Still $24.99 a month for slow DSL is a lot to ask but it is all I need. Heck I get cell, TV and phone (including long distance) for only about $10 a month. And it all works good for me too. The kids can be online with Xbox and I can use the phone too. It sure beats the cable TV, phone and internet package at $175 a month they were gonna raise a friend to. Add in say $75 a month for a cell phone too. Whew that is $250 a month times 12 equals $3,000.00 a year and figure you may have to earn $4,000.00 in your pay check so uncle sam can take his income taxes first before you can spend it. So $350 a year compared $4,000.00 I can do without the cable. At this time of night there are mostly infomercials anyway. | |

BSD24Tier 4Premium join:2008-04-30 Middleboro, MA 1 edit | oh well life goes on.. there must be a reason for the change, they don't want to lose customers, and everytime they raise rates, it increases at some level the disco or downgrade rates... they all do it, verizon, comcast, AT&T, etc..
While prices of food jump and portions get smaller, to be honest i think the increase in my comcast bill is less than the increases we are all paying in gas, let alone food..
Keep in mind Comcast's internet and phone service prices (not including the rate change on the modem - if you lease it) have almost never changed over past few years... In my area its $42.95/mo and has been that for past 5+ years that I remember. And when Comcast upped our download and upload speeds a year ago or more, they still didn't raise rates.. -- BSD
