I went DirecTV for their deals

And it's saving me a decent bit per month but we're using alot of NFLX and may 'throw the dish' in a year or two depending on our viewing habits.

Let the floodgates open!

Then they'll have to lower prices to keep subs and try to lure others back. But don't too many people leave or else they'll raise prices like what happened with payphones and what's still happening with postage stamps. I guess the latter will never happen, at least not anytime soon.

It could be too that customer service is severely lacking. We switched from my husbands account to one in my name to take advantage of the introductory price. The women that cancelled the existing service was extremely rude when I explained what I was doing and refused to transfer me to the customer service agent that you needed to set up a new account, even though they are in the same building. It took an hour and a half to, a new credit check, and a day without service to accomplish this. It should have been an easy process to switch the names on the account AND upgrade the service at the same time with one person and one call instead of several calls and lack of service.

jumped ship in 2008

we ditched cable tv in 2008 because the price just kept getting higher and higher it came to a point were it was either food or tv at some points that year so I canceled and haven't looked back since we watched broadcast tv for a couple weeks there

then I got the bright idea that i could hook my desktop computer up to my old tv with the right converter from radio shack and watch netflix from there it went to hulu and eventually cast tv and now even the uverse website even offers some cable tv content and more online content is growing every year from what i have seen

it was a slight learning curve at first switching from using a remote to a mouse and keyboard but I picked up a nice wireless keyboard and mouse combo for about 12 dollars at kmart on sale christmas 2009 its nice I dont even miss it any more I can pause it when needed and come back to it later if I need which is nice with 2 toddlers in the house and I dont have to pay for anything extra like a DVR im surprised more and more people have not done this with all the extra money we save not buying cable tv we make a trip every year for a week on the coast different spot every time last year we went to Monterrey bay aquarium california if you havent been you should go its amazing there this year its going to be Disney land

happy web surfing
