some Success to follow Success

I'm impressed you've $50k to budget for guest writing.

Congrats on earning that kind of scratch.

It is like the "USA Prime Credit" commercial. After fees and conversion costs it actually comes out to 1 dollar.

What if...

...we paid you NOT to have specific members write here!

I could think of a few, besides me... Wait!! Doah...

The trick here is, how do you write an article that isn't a reboot/refresh of something from Light Reading, or EEtimes, or other news source, legally?
Or are you looking for someone to post articles with your wit (that is hard to top!)? I mean, I can be critical of VZW to almost libel! HEH...

I always thought if DSLReports was going to sell itself, Google would be involved.

Are you kidding me???

They came up with that much just this weekend with " $5 per verb, $4 per noun, and $3.75 for each individual use of punctuation" and also the new ATT inspired "Comment caps" with overage fees.

I'm just glad to see they are re-investing the money right here at home.

Re: Are you kidding me???

How do you know they only made $50K? Maybe this is what was left after the bonuses were handed out.

AND after DSLreports.com was bailed-out by Uncle Sam.

How do you pay?

Seriously, do you pay by the word, or by the article?

Re: some Success to follow Success

Google adword bring in a shitload of money. Pay to increase traffic and increase adwords clicks = MORE MONEY.

I am on another site that is like DSLR, A leading information source in its field, however a different subject matter and considerably smaller. There is usually around 800-1k people online at any given moment.

The owner says he makes $800-$900 per day on adwords clicks and that's just one small facet of his online presence. Not even the major point of income for him.

Re: How do you pay?

As the article notes, pay will be determined by length and the overall quality of the piece.

Re: Could you...

We'll take any length as long as it's good. Subjects could be all over the map. Spent a life in first-tier support and want to talk about it? Want to compare a bunch of Internet video options? Want to compare three different third party router firmware solutions? Want to discuss the accuracy of usage meters? Pitch me an idea, write something up, and if we like it we'll use it.

Maybe AOL could buy DSLReports. Like HuffPo, we'd all start whining about being unpaid contributors!
