 | PS3 did it. Had Amazon Instant Video on the PS3 a while now. Same deal with Netflix in that you don't need to be a PlaystationPlus to use it. Move along. |

That being said, I've been tempted to just let mine lapse & use the PS3 for my streaming needs. |

If Sony keep losing billions every quarter don't expect that to last much longer. MS proved you can get people to pay for something that should be free. |

Re: Xbox partnerships with streaming providers growing Maybe but PS3 still have NHL Center Ice and NFL Sunday Ticket. If they get HBOGo and if the rumored price cut I true I may just get a PS3. |

 | Absolutely! In terms of content, Roku wins, hands down. And some of the best content is on the private channels. If you want international news, for example, the Roku is the box you want to get. |

Well that sucks. Then Prime is kind of useless. I already have Netflix for the older stuff and Vudu for the newer stuff. It be nice if one could get both these things from ONE company. |

jmn1207Premium join:2000-07-19 Ashburn, VA kudos:1 | reply to Linklist I have a Roku, two PS3s, an Xbox 360, and an iPad. I prefer to watch something on the Roku between all of them.
If you are willing to spend $200 on Sunday Ticket, purchase a PS3 to watch it, and you clearly pay for a TV package that includes the ESPN family, what is $80 (with free shipping) for a top notch streaming device with a TON of channel options that you cannot find on either the PS3 or Xbox 360? |

Re: PS3 did it. And if Sony / Microsoft jump ahead and kill rentable videos on their next-gen consoles, then I'll be happily stepping out of consoles altogether. It seems as though the video game industry is really intent on shooting itself in the foot repeatedly. |

Re: Just Prime content? Well according to Amazon website you can watch rented movies on the XBOX 360 and in HD also but you have to rent it from the website. Which seems stupid since this is supposed to be about convenience. |

Which seems stupid since this is supposed to be about convenience. This could be Microsoft's doing though. You'll notice that Zune is the only service that offers 1080p programming. All other services on the Xbox 360 are in 720p. |

 | Now if they would just let it play more formats. I'd love to be able to install codecs on my 360 to play more types of files on my network.
Yes. MKV files without having to transcode. |
