I don't see any comment on the cost of the 75/35. As for downgrading from 35/35 to 50/25, I think if you are on a contract you can not downgrade like that. If you are on a month to month you should be able to do it but you might have to go on a contract to get the competitive pricing you are seeking.
I saw a story i the wall Street Journal that said TV rates went up as well but I don't see anything about that here. Anyone know if those went up? I did read that the promo is gone now and you only get a $120 Visa card.

That's the real shame. They could be handing to Comcast and other cable providers and introducing more real competition all the while getting rid of copper and its related costs. They truly could be having their cake and eating it too. | |

| | Comcast NE will be doubling speeds Just an FYI to all that starting on 06/15 Comcast started airing ads about how they'll be doubling Comcast Blast to the 50 and the Extreme 50 to 100 for free soon. May be why all the 8 channel bonding. I only know about Northeast. Not sure what the rest of the country will be doing but this is in response to the Fios Bumps | |

| | What a dilemma! Every time I think about dumping FiOS, I find a reason not to. I think I may have a reason to go with just internet and dump the TV and phone components of my Triple Play (104.99 promo rate for 2 years). I also have a Comcast Business line (16/2) for work - I crack into networks for a living (legally) and I don't think FiOS will like me hacking over their network, hence the separate internet line.
I bought a digital TV antenna (I live in NJ with NYC stations near enough), which will arrive soon. Other than Big Bang Theory and some local news, I don't care about the other stuff (I'll miss you, SpongeBob and Phineas & Ferb). So, ideally all I need is FiOS internet to stream Netflix/Amazon Prime, plus regular internet usage.
The thing is, if just FiOS internet costs me near $100/month, then I'll probably just keep what I have now, even if I don't use it all.

Tried different clients in the Network..
Wired Gig-E PC running Win7 Pro 64-bit..
Wireless-N client running XP Pro 32-bit..
No change so far. 
Guess I'll try a direct wired connect to the Actiontec. Hmmm. | |

| | Upgrade/Downgrade prices I just renewed my services about 2 weeks ago, the only thing I changed was the free for life MRDVR and got some extra discounts.
Went on to the upgrade and renewal page this is what I saw:
Presently I have Ultimate TV, 35/35 and phone
If I upgrade to:
75/35 +$20/month
150/65 +$40/month
Now get this, if I downgrade to:
15/5 +$10/month
3/1 +$10/month
Seems strange, if I downgrade the speed I still pay more. I guess I got a good price when I renewed or maybe I may loose the free for life DVR ........???

| | One way or another, I would end up paying more... I had the "Ultimate" bundle, which included the 35/35 tier. My $119.99 price was up for renewal, and no longer available. So, I made the move to the 75/35 plan, keeping the TV and phone at the same service levels.
The result, is a $20 increase over the first three months, and a $25 increase after that. It's about the same as the new rate that I would have paid, had I renewed before the 75/35 option was introduced.
Interestingly enough, this rate was *without* a two-year contract. Had I opted for the contract, I would have paid yet another $20 per month, for the same plan. To me, this seems backwards, but I have no problem going with a non-contracted plan. I really don't need a $250 gift card, that won't cover the cost of the extra monthly fee, over the life of the contract. | |

Lawrence, MA | Saved a few $$ thanks to DSLR thanks to the scoop provided by this site, I cancelled my triple play plan, which I had just satisfied my 2 year commit, with a $57/m 20/5 plan and locked it in on the 16th. My bill went from $157/m to $57/m.
I'm going to try to use my OTA antenna coupled with a silicone dust homerun for my main network broadcast tv, and use amazon and other internet content for movies and whatnot.
The only thing that I imagine will bring me back to Fios tv is if my wife gets sick of pushing a few extra buttons and using a mouse instead of the DVR remote.
Even if I only stick with it over the summer the savings will cover the cost of the HTPC and Homerun unit.
I must admit though, that 150 Mbit plan has me drooling, especially considering I turn to usenet for a lot of things. | |

Do you ever see FIOS implementing caps, or will they just use that against Comcast if they ever get close to those speeds for customers at decent prices? | |

I went to get rid of the phone and go to Net Talk but was told I had a contract until 2014... I downgraded from Ultimate to Extreme... So I would have to pay etf.. 
My question is If I do not call to "bump" the speeds up to 75/35 the only increase would be the cable cards and Set top boxes?
