Still no announcement from Leap Wireless?

Wasn't it last week that they were going to make an announcement? Well I guess they still have tomorrow, as Saturday is technically the last day of the week.

Re: Cant get clean there.

Give it up after 3. Use the wipes they sell just for that purpose.

In a pinch, or if you're poor the Bounty select a size towels work great for this. Moisten one, wipe with it. Use the other to dry. Don't be afraid to enter the "zone" aggressively.

A friend of mine was having some extensive bleeding in that area, and the doc directed him to do what I just said. He did, and everything cleared up in a week or so. I've always been picky about it myself. Later found out a LOT of people feel the same way (like most of Europe).

I also recommend you take a fiber supplement on a daily basis. You would be surprised at the results in regards to the present conversation. Plus, you will feel better in general.

A TMI topic, no doubt. But, an important one!

No WiFi!

So the trusty Linksys WRT54G I've had for years has died. It is amazing how useless things like tablets and iPod Touches are without Internet.

So I'll be getting an 802.11n AP at some point.

Re: Hurricane Sandy

I'm finishing up prepping tomorrow. I'm in the Philly burbs just north of Delaware and it looks like we may very well get an aers kicking. Gonna finish prepping the gutters tomorrow & make sure my sump pump is ready to roll. If the gutters are good, typically I don't need the sump. Found the front downspout TOTALLY clogged today. That's good & bad. Good I found it! That means less chance of basement water. Bad that it was clogged. Anyway, charging all the chargeable devices, going to fill the tub with water for flushing (I have a well, and had no power for 5 days last year with Irene) and bring the trash cans in. Either we get clobbered, or it ends up being phooey.

I thought Irene would be phooey & I got my aers handed to me. I'm prepping and hoping for the best.....

I hear ya on that one. Im in the navy and we went down to the commissary to stock up on stuff. But Ive been told if the navy says mandatory evac then i will go lol. Ive never been in a hurricane before. I'm from AR and ive been through all kinds of tornadoes. We live on the 3rd floor here in a 2bed apartment so I didnt know if it would really have any effect on us, other than power outages. Of course though I dont want my brand new Scion TC to get lots of water underneath it lol.

I replaced my WRT54GL with a E3000. Striped the OEM software and am running Tomato.... It is flawless!

Re: Hurricane Sandy

Hopefully it won't be too bad, i live in WV (just above/side-by-side) of VA and this past summer it was beginning to get to the point of either life or death and i am dead serious. The entire valley was dead without power for up to 4 whole days, gas stations were closed and hard to get to since there was no gas, some people did'nt get power back till 3 weeks later (or more) so yes this was bad. I had no problem but the food I needed cooked was something i needed but the heat I did not care about cause I'm use to it.

Windows 8 distribution servers humming

Did 2 separate downloads for the $40 Windows 8 Pro upgrade promo and had no problem hitting 50Mb with either one. Either it's not selling well (hard to believe) or MS planned this release very well. It's nice to see a high profile release good so smoothly for a change.

Clean....

After a day at the range I got the Bushmaster & Glock 27 clean, now I'm enjoying a little Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey.

I'm not a huge fan of "flavored" whiskey, but this stuff is so good, only thing it needs to be better is to be illegal so as to have the allure of the verboten.

It's that damn good!

I didn't even realize that 10-20 was my 12 year anniversary on DSLR. It's been a great 12 years - I joined when I was 17.

I started visiting this site around 2000 myself when I got the first available 'high-speed' internet available in my area. It was a Charter connection, at the blazing speed of 1024k/256k. I finally decided to pay for some premium points to do some testing in 2006.

Where does the time go?

New Toy and Voting

Many years ago when I was 14, I sat behind a drum set for the first time. Since then I have always wanted to learn how to play a drum set. Recently I got out of debt. I thought about buying a drum set. However as I live in an apartment complex an acoustic set is out of the question. I don't need to piss off my neighbors. So I did the next best thing and got a fairly good deal. I started setting it up on the new stand I purchased tonight. So tell me what you think of my new toy? Just to let you know I've been using it for a week and it sounds great. I personally didn't like the stand it was bundled with so I decided to get a different one.

On a side note I also decided to vote today, since I will be out of town on business on election day. Frankly, I've had enough lies, incompetence, and 'hope and change'.

Few more months to year 13. Think I was lost at least once before it a database loss or inactivity. Forget which it seems like it happens so frequently(around the web).

Lurked around even longer than 2000 while waiting for some sort of broadband in my area. But finally signed up when the dual-titanic based Flashcom/Northpoint brought SDSL to my CO.

Re: Windows 8 distribution servers humming

Hell, I am still on XP! Works fine, I didn't see many major changes when I tried Vista or 7. Sure it looks different but it is still basically the same Windows with a couple of added features. I have built machines that have Vista & 7 on them and probably will try out 8 but highly doubt I will be moving from XP until I need to.
