non-apology

seems like a typical court ordered apology by someone who doesn't agree with the court.

lol

Apple is operated by children

I swear, Apple is operated by a bunch of children. "Why should I apologize when I think I did nothing wrong?"

..not to mention Apple's piss-poor attempt at an apology. Wow.

I guess Apple's too good to actually admit that they were wrong.. on several occasions.

hahaha

Apple lawyers tried to argue that it would be impossible to update the apology in any less than two weeks

Judge needs to tell Apple to STFU and play ball.

OMG. They can't update their update to have an actual apology letter? Bullsh*t. They just don't want to.

Like I said, they won't apologize for anything since everything they make is "crafted by the gods", which would make the design team at Apple gods, eh? Whatever.

Sure it was an apology! They said they were sorry... sorry that they didn't win like they deserved!

God what a joke apple. How about you stop trying to skirt things and just take your lumps like ordered and deserved.

new Apology

I would say you have 48 hours to write a new Apology, or Samsung will write one for you.

Until massive multi-million $ fines are involved, Apple will drag their feet. The judge gave them 48 hours. He should fine them $1 million/hr for every hour they don't comply.

$1b a day its not changed would get them to up that forecast. And since Apple has piles of cash even $14b if they took two weeks is nothing to them at all.

As a company they act like a total bunch of douchebags. Considerably worse than Microsoft at their worst.

I had to search for the link even though I knew it was there

I think a jail sentence for contempt of court would be appropriate.

That was definitely NOT an apology. Put someone from Apple in a prison cell with "no rounded corners!"

Contempt of Court?

Didn't the original ruling say that Apple had to put the text on its homepage? I'm surprised they weren't cited for contempt.

Apology?

It took me a minute to figure out that was the apology. I thought I clicked the wrong link.

Re: non-apology

Go read the original(which is still up). Its not even close to an apology, and actually cites other countries rulings saying samsung infringed.

Re: hahaha

It took them less than 24 hours to put the original up, it cannot take more than that. They are just trying to buy time to come up with a more spun version of it that says "im sorry", without actually saying im sorry.

Who goes to jail? "Apple"? The web developer that posted the message? The CEO?

Except Apple can cause a lot more financial damage to UK (and some to themselves) than UK can to Apple. I'd do it if it wasn't for the pesky shareholders crying wolf.

When you get the clout & bank of Apple, you can tell silly judges to pound sand. It's an earned privilege as far as I'm concerned.

I think hefty, daily fines would hurt Apple a wee bit.

Privilege telling a JUDGE off? LOL, go ahead, try that sometime, let us know how that works out for you

They weren't ordered to apologize they were ordered to publicly note that Samsung didn't violate that patent - and they did, and the wording used was the court's own.
