Old enough to know to go to Pirate bay to get free musicShe was old enough to know to go to Pirate bay to get free music. Then she is old enough to lose her laptop. And let's face it, the ones most at fault are her parents. And they can pay the price for not doing their job of supervising their child. |

How Low?How low can this industry go?
We have been past absurdity, now its just getting offensively stupid.
What an unbelievable waste of resources. |

Re: Old enough to know to go to Pirate bay to get free musicWhere is this "data that proves otherwise" ? Im fairly certain that this little girl wont be torrenting any time soon. Mission accomplished. I'll be sure to have my kids net usage under lock and key when theyre old enough. Again, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. |

For a start.....The kid is a spoiled little turd. I would not let my kid at 9 years old own or use a laptop. Especially by themselves. |

Sad people resort to calling a nine year old girl who engaged in nothing more than common behavior a future pervert and a turd.
Desperate and pathetic come to mind. |

The first thing she does is call one of her techie friends, relatives, etc, who after making fun of her for an hour or so for being an idiot, tell her that for under $10 a month she can get a VPN account and really "stick it" to the industry. |

this is how you make a SUPER VILLAIN (from Youth)She would either forever buy copyright material and read all EULAs. OR She would remember this day and when she is 18 years old (in 9 years), she would use her 9 year's of planning make the biggest "up yours scheme" any copyright holder has ever seen, and become heros of pirates everywhere.
"revenge is a dish best served cold" Muhahahahaha~~~~ THAT'S FOR TAKING AWAY MY Winnie the Pooh Laptop. and thus the world is a better place for all. |

Re: darnGood luck with that. There's ways to tunnel via port 80 and 53.
Why do you think I have my network designed like I do? Because I have 2 little geniuses that could, eventually, find their way through the roadblocks I've set.
Of course, teaching responsibility and ethical hacking are key to preventing the feds from knocking down your door. |

Re: this is how you make a SUPER VILLAIN (from Youth)Don't tempt her. There's quite a few good hackers that are young teenagers. Of course, if she does do something to get even, the parents get blamed and sued to death. |

The tea party solution to the problem.Simply roll back the clock to what was done in 1800's, the golden age of capitalism before the imposition of big government.
1. Assess a large monetary judgement against the parents 2. Throw the parents into debtors prision for being unable to pay 3. Employ the child in a garment factory or coal mine 4. Profit
That will teach the kid! |

I don't think this news article changes much. Determined pirates will continue to pirate, most of them already use VPN's, proxies and/or other means to stay our of copyright police cross-hairs. Those who buy stuff legitimately will probably think "Oh my, if I did pirate, this could have happened to me!" But that's like preaching to the choir. A few noob pirates would probably think twice before torrenting stuff though. |

educate the parentsmaybe someone from torrentfreak will educate the parents and tell them what IPredator is all about.
I am kind of shocked that more everyday pirates don't educate these people. Least then they will know better. |

Parental Responsibility FAILURE!!!So who just lets their 9 year old do what ever the hell they want online without seeing what they are up to? My 8 year old has his own laptop but he isn't allowed to install anything he wants or go to any site he wants.
Not everything you download is what you asked for no matter what the description says. |
