 Internet Roaches!

X10 was the most important reason why I installed Pop-up Stopper. This is truly getting ridiculous. Once I had my Pop-up Stopper off and I was reading an article at excite.com (or was it NYTimes.com?)... Before I knew I had three X10 windows-- and I hadn't even touched any links! They are like cockroaches... crawling under your main browser... And I love it when Pop-Up stopper makes those "pop" noises when it squashes those buggers!

About that popup...

quote:
Rumors on the internet suggest that the x10 company may be a government funded project that connects, through mechanism as yet unknown, with the FBI Carnivore project.
Dude, that's not JUST a picture of camera. It IS a camera that turns your display into a two-way monitor.;)

i used to buy from X10, now i stopped.

I bought alot from x10.com, then once these beyond intrusive ads started appearing, I decided never to shop there again.

Like X-10 is the only one????

I have seen many different ones.... all in the exact same format (size, placement, etc)
This is a marketing company behind this somewhere not any individual business advertiser.

Problem with all the Pop Up stoppers is they kill all NEW windows calls, even ones I initiate. Though I would be glad to hear of one that doesn't

x10 POPUP BYTES

I contacted the webmaster and was told that you should only get one popup per login session regardless of how many pages you hit. I really don't believe that. Do you?

Re: x10 POPUP BYTES

if so, how come at the end of the day I can have between 3 to six of them lying in wait, depending on what sites I visited?
Also - if you disable advert cookies, as you should for other reasons, then they don't know its you again.. and can't stop sending you the popups.

Re: Like X-10 is the only one????

Pop-up stopper lets you hold down CTRL while you click on a link with a javascript window opening call and it will let it open. It's not bad at all...if you click on a link you want and you see the stopper tray icon flashing, you know what's up and just hold down ctrl and click again and presto!

Re: Internet Roaches!

what do you prefer: an internet free of pop-up ads where there aren't free services to be found, or an internet ripe with free services that are funded by pop-up ads that are easily disposed of?

quit yer bitchin' and help keep the internet free.

Re: Internet Roaches!

I reserve my right to hate pop-up advertisements. And I reserve my right to bash them whenever I want to. (We have this thing called free speech, remember? ) If companies want to advertise, there are lots of unintrusive ways of doing so. Spending God-know-how-much money for the pop-under ads won't do anything for X10's bottom-line. It's already done wonders for their reputation-- it did much more harm than my expression of irritation.

You go ahead and enjoy them. As for me, I could care less.
