I'll say though that the WRT-54G was probably the last "best designed" router from Linksys. Newer routers removed the external antenna because external antennas are apparently an eyesore. As a result the range on my E3000 is not as good as my older WRT54GL.

Love my RT-N666U. Way I see it, if their good good enough for my Mobo, its good enough for my router. They actually care about the internal parts and not just what feature set they include. Buffalo is decent too, but just their dd-wrt line.

Still have a WRT-54G v2 in service here, but dumped the stock Linksys firmware years ago. It's currently running toastman Tomato and chugging along like a champ.

I am admittedly a Linksys Router hoarder. Goodwill had a Linksys E2500 and WRT110 for $5 ea. Had to pick them up just to keep in my spare collection. I love a great deal.

| Markie join:2003-07-26 Kalispell, MT | Yugo's weren't actually nearly that bad... Owners were failing to even get oil changes on the things since they were so cheap, they attracted buying who didn't put as much love into their investment. Even those who did failed to do more major work like timing belt changes - leading to engines destroyed that way. Also, the engine design required midgrade fuel (89 Octane min).
Fed the required fuel (slightly more expensive), and maintained properly, they were decent little cars if you kept your expectations reasonable.

| | | | Yugo GV I had a Yugo GV Paid $150000 USD It was my first car. no synchronous gearbox, but I added air and am/fm casette. I had it for 86,000 miles and i only had to replace the clutch and alternator as the major issues. always put in high test petrol. lovely car. | |

As another poster pointed out the x-Sipura VOIP systems, would seem to be a better match at Cisco, but again the culture clash is an issue..

| Absolutely awful This sucks not only for the basic router/wap parts but for their nicer gear too. I bought a Linksys SR2048 (managed 48 port GbE with 4 mini-gbic) 6 years ago and I doubt Belkin could ever turn out such a piece of hardware even today.
All Belkin is good at is producing overpriced cables for sale at Best Buy & OfficeMax -- you know, the $20 USB cables and the gold plated "for better signal transfer" HDMI cables. -- John M - Cranky network guy

| | To those of you saying Belkin sucks..... I used to have a D-link wireless G router and had to reset it at least 3 times a week because it would always lose connection. I upgraded to a Belkin N+ and have to reset it no more than once every 2 months. I always get super good speeds with it and have literally NO problems with it with the exception of having to reset it once every couple of months, if even that.
