How much you want to bet Ogmundur Jonasson is a major pedophile or something close to that?
Most of these guys pushing hard for "morality" are usually caught with prostitutes, kiddy porn, etc. |

| good luck chuck And I thought an old skool book burning event was passe. But guess what, it's now digital book burning, and they are flying around the world like those little green monsters in Ghostbusters. Don't cross the stream.
I guess they never got the memo on how China's Great Wall (say an economy 100 of times bigger) can't effectively keep information out.
BTW my calculator has more processing power than the computers that sent a man to the moon (and yes Iceland was still fishing back in those days--not sending a man to the moon), and I guarantee after the "meltdown" of Iceland's economy they won't have the cash to even scratch the surface of this and my $40 RPN calculator isn't going to cut it.
This will simply make bitcoin the default porn currency even faster L)
Just try to keep a guy a week from wanking it, and you will see violence...

 | Let freedom ring? Guess they dont bother with little things like personal freedoms in Iceland. Maybe they will toss as much money down that Austrailia did. Then we can have two countries to point and laugh at while trying to filter the internet. -- Does Microsoft mean small and squishy? |

Its like crack to them. Little people that get their rocks off "helping" others by forcing them to do things. Too bad its going that direction here too... -- Does Microsoft mean small and squishy? |

 | So frigid temps and the expect you to look porn on shops? LO I have a feeling the Icelandic gov wants to put internet porn out and let you buy it like the old day. stop by a shop by the DVD and go home. Since we all know in Iceland during fishing season women in port cities will ask single guys out to dance and if you do your job well use you for the night . |

| Impossible It's impossible to ban porn off the internet. One particularly regligious and conservative friend told me on time that he thought porn should be banned, and of course I had to explain to him that we have something called free speech and the first amendment here in the US, but anywhere in the world, at a practical level, it would be impossible. Even if you blocked known porn sites, you'd be in a never ending game of whackamole. And then there's VPN, Bittorrent, FTP, Usenet, should I keep going? |

Re: "Violent" pornography? I recall a conversation I had with a co-worker years ago. because of her religious beliefs, any nudity was sexual in nature. IE bathing, showering, changing clothes, it was all sexual. She said that we need to keep covered at all times, unless you seek to cause another person to have immoral thoughts.
Good to see the USA doesn't own the market on that way of thinking.

 | hmm If they block porn they might as well block people from having sex as well and let the problem solve itself in the next 80 years. |
