Just like feudalism: buy a privilege to tax the peasants
Freudian typo in the linked article: "digital anti piracy laws bought in under the Digital Economy Act " hahahaha
And how are the ISPs going to decide whether the internet user was infringing? Oh yes, accusations from the copyright-exploiting companies. And what protection do citizens have against false accusations? Only trying to prove themselves innocent at their own expense.
When the only way to enforce an artificial monopoly is to remove the "innocent until proved guilty" principle, it's time to start restoring basic principles of justice, by reducing the monopolies.
I second that.
The BPI is quoted as saying "It is the responsibility of every company and every single person on the entire planet, to help protect our profits!"
